Ron Paul is just too many parts nutty and he's just an all around strange character. I don't want him representing this country.

The John Birch Society

Their slogan on their website is "Less government, more responsibility and with God's help, a better world". I can see how that would **** off a lot of rabid liberal idiots.
It doesn't go with the social views that the government MUST provide for everyone.

How old is too old? I know folks half his age that neither
have the wits, nor stamina, he has.

True, he would be our oldest President to date - but
he'll be in good company with another well known
state man - Ben Franklin, who was 81 when he signed
the Constitution. He did die two years later, but Paul
is in extremely good health - in mind and body

And I like the saying: Wise as an old owl

Paul for President Four years is all he'll need

If the GOP has the slightest clue about what's at stake, they won't put up another worthless turd (see McCain) against Obama, or they're going to lose (again). The smart play is to give Paul the nod. If I wasn't registered as an Independent I'd help him in the primaries. All I know is I will not be voting for Obama. If the GOP puts up a dunce, I'll write in Donald duck for president. The "voting for the lesser of two evils" crap is getting old.
While I agree with him on some things (getting out of the wars, cut defense spending, to name a couple), and while I agree with the "live and let live" mentality of Libertarianism, I don't agree on doing away with social programs/safety net.

Doubtful, that family seems a bit too wacky for my tastes.
