Sooo funny and part of the Problem here..... failure to listen unless it's what you want to hear. I am a legal Resident... paid my dues to live here, pay tax here, and guess what... can vote except for the President. The welcome letter from immigration explained fully how i was now part of America and have all the rights of Americans (except running or voting for POTUS). You don't like my opinion..... Not my concern. I think that a lot of the problem here is Fear. Most things here are decided on by fear based info. Watch the Elections.... Fear based info, even your tv commercials.... Fear Based..... Buy our product because the other products will kill you...lmao. The last elections for congress was about how awful the opponent was and virtually nothing about what the candidate was going to do...."did you know that Mr x had been a naughty boy in school" lol I have every right to say what i think needs doing here... There are many local areas that are doing well.... doing well b ecause of American hard graft. Where i live in Florida there are jobs being advertised all over.
This is local but America needs huge investment in Industry to once again become a key player in World Economy.
I think that a tad less government regulation of business would contribute more to that huge investment you talk about but then the socialist leaners don't manage to understand that and try for more regulation. Yes, that is socialists destroying our businesses, if they can. The more regulation the nearer complete socialism we get. Yes, I do understand what socialism is even though you don't like to admit that the UK is hurt by it.

I used to live in your native Britain, I don't see much difference between the two countries with regard to the topic of your thread.
I find it a bit odd when a new citizen criticizes his new hosts so bluntly. I live in a country where I was not born, too. But I am very careful not to criticize too openly (and believe me, there is a lot to criticize here), I would find it inappropriate and locals would do so, too.
1) You never answered the previous poster about your nation of origin.
2) America is the greatest nation on earth. You happen to frequent America and you have an American wife. If America was not the greatest nation on earth then everyone else from ALL of the other countries would not clamor to get inside of our borders.
3) Why do you not have the same introspection about your own country? Why not speak to your fellow countrymen to make your country better?
Right on every post from geeoro is the information that he lives between London UK and Florida. It is not hard to see uk as his home when he uses the UK for so many of his examples of how superior their system is to ours.
Yes people are gullable everywhere but unfortunately in America the Media dictates many many many peoples viewpoints and the media is biased beyonf belief. I am from the UK and there are some realy gullable people there too but unlike the USA they are not the majority. If a Govt is elected it is given a chance to see what it does...here in the USA, as soon as a President is elected the partisan media goes into a frenzy about how the President has failed even before he is in the Whitehouse and many believe them.
I would say that you really believe that our present President received the prestigious Nobel prize because of all his promises during the campaign. It all happened long before he had accomplished anything in the area of peace or foreign policy. Now that alone was enough to set much of our media against him. i still wonder what caused it all
When it comes to fighting communism Americans are very determined to put their noses (and tongues) to the grindstone.
I have been doing just that since 1950 when I graduated from high school and the Cold War got going really good. I think it was a Communist society we tried to protect all of Europe and ourselves from. Am I wrong?
The UK has many problems and they are largely due to mass immigration to the UK. Europe is not immune from problems but that does NOT justify the partisan B/S here that destroys so many good hard working Americans

Sorry if i appear to be shouting. I am, however frustrated at the same old same old that isn't working. Not working for either party.
When i talk face to face with Americans here, they are absolutely shocked at the difference between what they have been told about other systems and the truth. I ask them why they believe what is told to them by the media and they say they have very little erlse to go on. That is true here. The media has such a small spectrum here and is extremely partisan. They lie through gtheir teeth and they convince people that they are being truthful because most do not have any reason to not believe them.
I want America to be the America that i, as a young man, looked at with absolute awe. The Country that was ahead of the field. The Country of innovation. The Country that every other Country could not compete with. Americans are trully respectful and wonderful people but the ones at the top for some reason think they are "royalty" and America owes them a living no matter how the everyday American suffers. That is soooo wrong yet many Americans believe their B/S and think they really are concerned for them. All these "fat cats" are concerned about is how much money they can accumalate no matter at who's expense they can get it.
Many Americans now live on Charity and at the mercy of the corporations... that is not how Americans should live. I have a friend who was diagnosed with cancer and has had to have a fund raiser to get a second opinion... this is his life we are talking about.... so wrong and yet he believes that is how things work in the World...because he has been told the American system is the best and he is prepared to get charity to try to keep his life..... sad!

But you were talking about the problems free immigration have caused in the UK and I think that you were right. Now isn't immigration, especially the illegal kind causing us all kinds of problems or haven't you been around to see that that is the case.
I think that Neuling said it about as well as it could be said. It just isn't too wise to hammer the new home like you did. I saw you wanting to be the real authority on socialism and communism and telling us that none of us knew much about that field of endeavor.
