The opening of the Morganza spillway will flood about 25,000 families homes.

Why them?

If it were a black community, would he be doing it?

Thanks obama, you're doing a GREAT job!

Shouldn't this be in the political forum?

I also feel that 25000 is better than 100000.

Heh, George W. Bush displaced a lot more people with his remote-control hurricane six years ago.

If this is how you perceive things, then you really shouldn't even be voting.

There's so much wrong with this that it's not even worth responding to. But yeah, you're definitely in the wrong forum.

I did have a think about this, but in the end, it's really an 'Obama's doing X!!' kinda deal. It's simply a matter of numbers. Saving 2 large cities is more important than sparse rural areas, and I assume the families are all compensated.

Case and point of people who aren't educated on a topic speaking on said topic then looking stupid for commenting on said topic.

As a president, he made the right decision. That decision being mostly farm land vs. populated areas.

I don't see what a natural disaster and effective management with unavoidable obstacles has to do with the presidency.

Not to mention, what does being black have to do with it as well? If McCain were president would you be asking whether or not he'd be worried about flooding a white community?

Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

for the clueless out there, this thread pokes fun at people who blamed bush for katrina... like he himself was standing on top of a levy next to a black neighborhood with a stick of dynomite just to make them miserable. have we forgotten that silliness already?
obama did the right thing and bush couldn't have done much different to ease katrina consequnces. I vividly remember new orleans being warned 7-12 days ahead of time for that one, yet few listened.

Isn't that the damn truth?

Those spillways were constructed for that very reason. And the clueless ones on this thread would turn around and complain if they weren't used.

Unless, of course, they're New Orleanian-haters. That's it!

Are you suggesting Obama controls the weather?
