What's the matter? Don't you want your health insurance company to make a profit?
No, actually, I don't. I don't believe providing health care should be a for-profit business.

Not a done deal quite yet so hold on to your "hopes" for a while longer.
That's the point isn't it? You are obviously a Republican but look to the Democratic Senate and the President to stop the Republican's madness. It's like the psycho killer that writes, "stop me before I kill again."

If the Republicans won the Senate in 2010, there would be no stopping killing Medicare as we know it, unless Obama was willing to veto the whole budget.

Whad'da mean we didn't like it then? It was the Republican's alternative. How can they not of liked there own proposal? Your argument is absurd.

But the major point is that their 1990's alternative is the same proposal that in 2009 they called unconstitutional, Socialism, government takeover, etc., etc.

Obama care is nothing than sprwading my money and other paying peoples money to others! Stop it! Sorry for the rant but this is ridiculous!

Btw I have Blue Cross, Blue shield of Florida
There a private company and they did over 8 BILLION DOLLARS in business last year.

I wonder what kind of profits they made last year and how much more they willl make this year soaking people like you while you turn around and blame the government?

The fact that a few GOP members supported the idea, doesnt mean that the plan was supported by the tens of millions of Republicans. WE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME, and you thinking we are is whats absurd

No, I'm not "obviously" a Republican.

I don't think the government should be dictating ANY healthcare whatsoever.
Get rid of all insurance except for major medical (hospital coverage) and let the prices come down by themselves via competition to prices we can afford without insurance.

Maybe you're not old enough to remember but at one point in time insurance was only used for hospital stays. All else was paid out of pocket.

Then along came HMO and then government intervention and the hole thing went to hell in a handbag.
Just like home ownership and just like college education and any other other program that the government stepped into to lend a "helping hand".

In all cases someone IS making money off the taxpayers.

I remember those days too Happytexan. I remember how much simpler things were. How you could afford to go to the Dr/Hospital and actually understood your Bill when you received it. Anything the Government gets control of goes to hell. Great Post

Let me understand your position, because it seems particularly bizarre. You are against the government dictating that you should have healthcare but it's fine for the government to dictate that you can't have healthcare? That's exactly what "Get rid of all insurance except for major medical" means.
