Ron Paul. No doubt a smart man, knows economics, understands the history of our empire, and has actual resolutions to our current problems.

Ron Paul is a guy who will say things like "I think people have a right to put up 'NO BLACKS' signs in their windows" and "I wouldn't have pulled the trigger to kill Osama like Obama did".

The media and other politicials are all GASPING as Paul says this claiming political suicide. They think he's nuts for saying things that could so easily be used against him.

The fact is Ron Paul speaks what's on his mind. He's a smart man, he knows what he's saying, he's not ignorant. He's been saying these things his entire career and still won 11 elections. How does he do it? Because he's for real and he's not an elitist phony.

When's the last time a democrat/republican candidate spoke his mind despite what the population would think of him?

I can't think of any...

I love Paul and have End The Fed on my vehicle. He's on point with most of his ideas and beliefs. He's a true patriot and is exactly what this country needs. However, the average American voter is not very intelligent unfortunately most people don't understand basic economic concepts like inflation, quantitative easing, or even the underpinnings of how the private Federal Reserve works. They have no concept of money creation or what money actually is. So even on Paul's biggest issue many Americans fail miserably at understanding what he talks about. Paul's arguments lie too much in a world where everyone is educated, understands these type of principles and better yet knows their own history and really understands how the world works. In America we don't live in that type of society and in Paul's utopia with freedom comes an insane amount of ethical behavior, trust, responsibility, and personal accountability. We don't have that in this country anymore. That being said Paul needs to be more political if he wants to win. He needs to learn how to win people over by not necessarily saying what they NEED to hear but by saying what they WANT to hear. That is the sad state of the American voting populace and why someone like Ron Paul probably will never win. That and the fact that the banking elite probably hate him so much they'd pull another Kennedy or Lincoln on him if he ever did get elected.

Speaking your mind is fine but when nosense comes out of your mouth expect a backlash. Paul's a loon with a modest following of people stuck in the past. They're fairly harmless and serve to splinter the publican party further with a different set of fringe beliefs so I'm good with that. Keep speaking your mind Ron.

It's because he doesn't believe in political correction and sugar-coating things to not "offend" anyone.

-Ron Paul 2012!

I think you'll find that speaking your mind is exceedingly easy to do when you have no chance of winning in the first place. What have you to lose then?

Being a congressman certainly also helps. A district highly concentrated in it's political views is pretty much a no brainer to keep after you've been elected. The higher up you go, the harder it is to openly espouse fringe beliefs as you represent a wider variety of people.

I'd say the same thing about Bernie Sanders, whom I like. Although he's a senator which makes things riskier, he represents a relatively small state with concentrated political views. The more people you represent, the more watered down you tend to get.

Keep in mind a lot of his supporters aren't republicans...

Ron Paul does a good job of bringing ideas and issues into the political discussion that need to be discussed. For this reason alone I think he is good for this country.

He'll never get elected, and I don't agree with everything he says, but at least his arguments are thoughtful and articulate.

But you know just so happens that some seem to get elected by talking nosense and tallking nonsesne that people buy into. He does have some good points, and does seem rather smart. But we need someone that is going to jumpstart our economy, and have those business smarts.

I find it a bit refreshing that he does speak his mind, whether he makes it or not, he does not seem to buy into what others do, he will not sugarcoat or milk anything.

I like Paul, I hear some calling him a loon. Yea, like the clowns we have had in office a pillars of the community and are their for us and we are in great shape the way it is. BS.

The man wants people to have the freedom to choose. Pretty simple. He believes Businesses should have the right to slit their own throat by putting up signs " no black, gays or whatever". They should have the right, he thinks they would be idiots to put the sign up because they will lose their asses, but it will weed out the bad. He is about freedom and personal liberty, something we claim to have now, but dont really. We are not allowed to do this, say that ( might get sued) , mandates on what we can and cant do with our own business and property. We really are not as free as we think we are.
