Anyway. The light from LEDs can and are any color desirable. I have replaced all of my ceiling lights with warm LEDs that provide the same light, will last 25 years and use less than 5% of the energy. But if you want to use Thomas Edison era lights that produce 95% heat and 5% light, while having to be replaced every few months, be my guest.

Getting back to the original message. George W Bush signed it into law in 2007. Did light bulb makers complain? Of course not, they were planning to discontinue them anyway.

Congress could have passed the Quality of Music act in the 90's; outlawing the release of prerecorded music on tape. Fortunately, they weren't in the mood to pass superfluous legislation.
Nothing like resurrecting a six year old thread for fun.

Since this post is so old, it needs to be pointed out that LED's have come down in price considerably.

Yes buddy I sure am.... I love the beautiful/natural analogue sound!! (Closest you can get to open reel)

I just think traditional bulbs offer the best/most natural light..

LED lightbulbs are one of the best inventions of my lifetime. Use one sixth of the energy of an incandescent, and cool to the touch. Kudos to all of the scientists and engineers who made it happen.

LEDs have been in use for some time in other countries. One would think that the USA would have caught up before now.

Vinyl records and incandescent bulbs for the sensory win.

Well said! I live in "flor-i-DUH". Just bought a new place. Every frickin bulb in the place is an incandescent heat source. In my current old place I went with CFLs everywhere I could. But they are so inferior to LEDs!
