Well, Karl Rove got his comeuppance in Nov 2012 when Obama blew out Romney in the general, that look on his face when even Megyn Kelly was telling him it was over and Obama won was priceless, like a deer in the headlights 😁👍

I am a conservative who has voted republican every year since Bush Sr. (Until I chose to not vote in 2016 because of the terrible candidates) so what democrat presidents could I have voted for?

1. FDR, I definitely don’t like much of his New Deal, borderline socialism but it’s his WW2 leadership that gets my attention. We could not have asked for a better wartime leader. On that alone he would have my vote.

2. Truman, closed the deal on WW2, stood our ground against the Soviets in Europe, Marshal plan, he was a true world leader.

3. JFK, a Cold War hero. Got those missles out of Cuba, kept the soviets in check all with no war. Space program too.

Those are my favorite 20th century democrat presidents. Sad how the quality of the last two presidents has been so low when we look at the great leaders of the past. No matter your politics you never doubted the ability of the likes of FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, Reagan, Bush 1 and 2 as well as Clinton. Even carter, LBJ and Nixon with all thier issues were far more qualified and capable than what we deal with today. OBama was awful, trump is downright embarrassing. Why can we not get back on track? The quality in the presidents being discussed in this thread are what we should demand, we should never let clowns become president.

None of the president's you named won 100% of the vote, in fact, the highest was LBJ with just under 62%

That means at least 38% voted for someone else and indeed doubted their abilities, and people still do.

I thin you misunderstood me. Of course many people voted against them but that does not mean they feared these men could not do the job or would embarrass the nation. Supporting a president and his policies is not the same as trusting they are capable of doing the job in a competent fashion. Today we are faced with that fear that our president may not be capable of the job.

I would have voted for Reagan if I was old enough.

I would vote for Mueller now if he ran!

GOP presidents I've voted for:

Nixon
Ford
Reagan
Bush the elder
Bush the younger

Dem presidents I've voted for:

Obama

On this forum, that record makes me a radical lib.

I voted and campaigned for Carter who had much the same outsider status as Trump. The Swamp crushed Carter just like it's trying to do to Trump because while he ran against Ford, he mostly ran against DC. He didn't like Congress and they didn't like him and Ted Kennedy was delighted to dine on his misery. I lost faith in Carter when he obviously lost faith in America.

I am a Libertarian leaning Conservative, and I would have voted for Harry Truman, and JFK.

Politicians are not known for practicing what they preach. Conservative or Liberal it is probably more important to vote for someone's character rather than their political affiliation.

If that was true, Jimmy Carter would have been probably our greatest president.
FDR, Kennedy, Bill Clinton would be among the worst......
