Not with Obamacare. There will be an "approved" pool of carriers. You will be stuck with whoever those are. Also, once government steps in and gives a company preferential treatment and tells them how to operate, it is no longer a private company.
Who do you think they will be? It'll be the same few we have now--UnitedHealthCare, Etna, Humana, BCBS etc.
the liberals cant even answer the question of how to PAY for singlepayer....you have 3-5 trillion sitting around A YEAR???
Isn't Medicaid administered by the States? Arizona denies Medicaid coverage because of State shortfalls
It isn't a Death Panel when the Insurance company does it, it's business. In the GOP world if you can't be exploited you are not ECONOMICALLY VIABLE, Die Quickly

That is only 1,3 billion, and it assumes you add UHC to every other program out there. Rather than replace programs with it. Also, it assumes the UK or Scandinavian model of UHC.
doesnt matter if its private insuance, or medicare. or medicaid, or a singlepayer system
denial of payment is denial of payment
and its REAL BIG with medicare/ciad...many, many things "not covered"
but at least with private insurance I can try to fight them, or change carriers...you cant fight city hall though (ie the government)
VERY difficult to fight insurance companies to cover treatment when you are ill! Especially if you are denied treatment without insurance approval or prepayment out of pocket.
It is impossible to get a new insurance company to cover a preexisting condition especially if you are in the midst of needing treatment for it.
Give me one example of a medical treatment Medicare does not cover. I know of none.
They can deny treatment and there won't be anywhere you can go to have it done and there is no appeal. They are the last word. This panel is appointed and has no oversight.
Really, if true how long do you think the American people are going to put up with that nonsense? Not long at all, a matter a fact it may last a month and then heads will roll, after all just because this bill passed doesn't mean we are now Red China or Nazi Germany. So I do not believe your statement.
Why do Conservatives believe it's perfectly acceptable for health insurance companies to delay or deny medicare that ending up resulting a person DYING all in the name of PROFIT?
There is no way that a private health insurance health care system can EVER have the patients best interest at heart because for them PROFITS will always mean more than the best interest of the patient.
I guess none of them ever had children who need a liver transplant
First of all an insurance company can't deny treatment. They can refuse to pay for a certain treatment. But that's altogether a different matter.
Obama's death panels, on the other hand, will deny treatment. They will prescribe a one-size-fits-all course of treatment which medical providers will have to adopt if they want to be paid. As in England they will measure your life expectancy against the cost of a prescribed treatment and if they find that the cost outweighs the benefit too bad for you.
You do know the difference between the UK's Health care delivery and our current one? If so, you should know that Obama's bill is absolutely completely different than the UK's. It's like night and day, no similarities at all.

This is the same as insurance companies denying treatment! One would have the option of paying for any healthcare they want out of their own pocket with Obamacare as well.
