1) No person is entitled to my money.
2) I pay taxes by law to the government, not to any person.
3) Government uses my money to provide a VARIETY of services.
4) A huge chunk goes to defense. I don't want to pay for wars, yet nobody asks me. Are they entitled to use my money for activities I am opposed to? Yes, because the majority decided so, and we live in a democracy.
5) How do you know that your $ goes to welfare? Maybe it pays for killing Afghans, or tracking from air drug dealers in Columbia?

We won't win it because it's all been a farce. Nothing is being done to control a wide open border.

They know full well where the drugs enter and how and who is bringing them. They refuse to stop it.

If the border were enforced, the cartels wouldn't be fighting over it. They're fighting over lucrative trafficking corridors because there is no border enforcement.

To put it into its simplest form, let's say that your labor produces $1000 per week. Is anyone entitled to a % of that earning?

You labor for 40 hours a week. Your neighbor doesn't. Should you be mandated to hand over 30% to him? How about 10%? What about 5%?
It is the Governments Money, so unless you are bartering for everything you need, or printing your own, yes they are.

The price would take a momentary jump for a few months, then either a new way around the border will be found, or we'll just rely on our domestic supply.

About 60% of the US marijuana intake is domestic. Really only about 20% comes from Mexico, and the other 20% split between Canada and other sources.

Your employer confiscates a percentage of your labor by allowing you the platform to profit off your labor.

Until you shifted to that non-sequitor about giving money to your neighbor, I thought this was the concept you were referring to.

By this, i'm assuming you're against "entitlements", like social security, medicare, medicaid, etc.

What do you propose we do with 85-year-old grandmothers who are sick? Burial at sea?

A wage tax!

Maybe that's where unions got their ideas.
