So what was this point about?

Here I was simply pointing out exactly what you were with one important difference: civilian deaths do not tell the full story of a war. But in this case, we are talking about a regional conflict fought in the homes of Israelis and Palestinians versus World War 2, where the only attack on U.S. soil was the occupation of Attu and Kiska (uninhabited Aleutian Islands) by the Japanese. Germany was bombed for six years.

But you do understand that symmetry of casualties and firepower have no bearing on the merits of each side?

Casualties and firepower cannot, by themselves, reveal which side is "right" but they are often an indication of important questions like: "Why is there such a disparity in deaths, homes destroyed, and injured people". Because the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is so polarizing, few people are going to be persuaded against their beliefs anyway, so they may as well see the facts.

Isn't it funny that every action that Israel partakes results in a UN resolution, but every time an Arab nation kills some Kurds or Druze or each other it takes forever to get anything done?

WOW! And all I was thinking of was there walling out all non-Israelies, jeez what an ugly thing it is, and their troops shooting children that were throwing rocks or yelling at them.

if someone took you land, bulldozed your home and began building apartments on your land, how would you feel? would you fight for your property or just walk away?
