I think they will. You know that old story---if some nut is determined enough to kill another person, it doesn't matter what precautions that other person takes, the nut is going to get to him eventually. The American people have heard nothing but lies from the Repubs from day one yet half this country still votes for them. Their stealth, combined with the bottomless resources of the richest 1%, will catch up to us at some point; Medicare will be gutted; Social Security will be privatized and placed in the hands of the Wall Street casino dealers to be bundled up in a bunch of worthless CDO's and hedge funds and then laid on the roulette table. I see no hope.

You bet, and when they get rid of those pesky child labor laws America can take that Giant Step forward to Mr Ryans Pathway to Poverty. Third World here we come.

I don't know why you are thinking this but I think you are way off base, just my opinion and yours is just that: an opinion. Do I think SS will eventually be partly privatized? Yes, people will have choice to put part of their contributions into whatever they choose like 40lKs, but not all of it. Will Medicare go by the wasteside? Why would you even think that? It will be fined tuned which it probably needs. Most things need to be re-examined from time to time. What worked at one time may not be good another time.

Republicans are just being ideological. They don't want to fix SS, and Medicare. They want to turn them over to the private sector. Most Americans don't want that. An easier and less radical fix would be to push back the eligibility of those programs. Start right now and keeping gradually moving the dates back to 70. Have seniors pay slightly higher premiums and co-pays. That's how you save the programs, instead of getting rid of them.

Not exactly popular, but more popular than throwing senior citizens out to the wolves.

The answer is no, not gonna happen. But then again I do hope they try to, that way the voters can voice their opinion on the right-wing agenda

It was funny watching Ryan on MTP today. He seems to object to the "Mediscare Tactics", so he employed "Mediscare Tactics". Gregory skewered Ryan pretty well but I hope that doesn't get the GOP off the Ryan plan position. There plan to end Medicare is a Sheen like "winning" position.

Truth bother you? Maybe you should avoid the truth and then you will not feel the need to make off topic comments.

Personally I like all the infighting amoung the righties, listen to Newt lately, watching the GOP self-implode is priceless. Maybe a better GOP will be the result and the loons from the far right can go form their own Party/Circus.
