Kind of interesting accusation made by Issa.

He claims:

Quote:
Key Obama Administration figures have expressed a belief that Americans should pay more for energy – a pattern of actions shows the Administration is, in fact, pursuing an agenda to raise the price Americans pay for energy.

While the Administration touts nascent “green” energy technologies, U.S. domestic energy resources are currently the largest on earth—greater than Saudi Arabia, China and Canada combined.

Still trying to capitalize on domestic energy resources, U.S. firms are nevertheless investing billions of dollars to tap newly recoverable resources in California, Texas, Colorado and North Dakota, among others.

Recent Administration action has already led to significant cost and regulatory barriers that have limited domestic production of oil.

Other agencies have stepped up their efforts to indirectly curtail energy production through environmental regulations.

EPA has collaborated with environmental groups to target independent energy producers for environmental concerns not related to their operations.

President Obama’s proposal to increase taxes on the energy industry will cost American jobs and hamper economic recovery.

Some green energy sources the Administration is promoting at the expense of expanded domestic oil, gas, and coal supplies create unintended environmental, security and economic consequences.
And...

Quote:
An effort to intentionally raise the costs of traditional energy sources is a dangerous strategy that will harm economic recovery and job growth. If past statements of key administration officials are indeed reflections of the policies they are pursuing, this strategy is playing a quiet but significant role in the higher energy prices Americans are currently paying.
Well that's going to call for a rebuttal.

Rising energy costs? Obama is on record as calling for such.
No one should be suprised at what is going on here.

I don't think there's anything wrong with holding energy producers' feet to the fire when it comes to environmental protections.

Why should they be able to dump mercury in the river where I catch my fish? Is it THEIR river?

Do you purchase products made in China? They dump industrial pollutants by so-called "green energy" in the rivers there. Are those your rivers? Sorry, but I'm not buying the feigned outrage.

The end around congress on Cap & Tax.

Too many appointed bureaucrats in Government agencies, making laws.

Laws congress cannot even reverse.
How messed up is that?

Or is it perfect for a Dictator & King.

All of the above. The federal government and its buraucracies has become a malignant tumor mercilessly feeding upon this country and her people. It needs to be shrunk and neutralized before it completely destroys us.

Of course they shouldn't be able to dump mercury in your river.

The problem though isn't those big companies dumping mercury into your river, it's the people who used to have old style thermostats who are going green who throw their old thermostat away that has about 2.8 grams per stat. To put that in perspective the CFL bulbs that get everyone in a tizzy have about 3-5 milligrams of mercury.

They forgot to mention that.

Wanna hear about the new environmentally friendly refrigerant that's required in new HVAC units now?

Good news is that it doesn't have the chlorine atom that depletes the ozone. The bad news is that it has a higher global warming potential than the refrigerant it replaced.

These folks don't take long enough to figure out the unintended consequences of their actions before the foist them upon you "with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Sorry, got a little carried away...
