Yes, but if it was not for all the politics and the current admin trying to slam arzonia, it would have never went to court...

Apparently, the GOP blocking bills only counts when the Dems have control of the House, Senate, and Presidency.

So by YOUR definition...the GOP never blocked immigration reform.

This one of those truly WTF moments.

The case, as has been pointed out, was brought before the Court by the Chamber of Commerce, not the administration. Is it your argument that the Chamber initiated this litigation at the behest of the administration?

Perhaps you would like to explain this other world speculation.

Hey I know we're all using pghquests's definition of "blocking bills"

Which means that the GOP never has blocked immigration reform.

But I did find this interesting....Here is a cloture vote on a Immigration Reform Bill in 2007

and the majority of Dems voted to end debate and vote on the bill....and the majority of GOP voted against ending debate...and not voting on it.

U.S. Senate: Legislation & Records Home > Votes > Roll Call Vote

But remember....the GOP never blocks immigration reform bills!

Because the US Chambers of Commerce is so supportive of the current administration????

This law affected businesses. The US Chambers of Commerce is a business-oriented lobbying group. They are also very much right-leaning. So, your assertion that it would not have gone to court has no legs. It was destined for the courts the moment it was signed into law.

Never mind the appeal by the President to the congress to take up immigration reform last summer.

GOP Political Stunts Impede Immigration Reform

Such stunts wouldn't possible without the full support of the disingenuous folks such as those found in these forums. Their priority is not about debating issues and getting to solutions. It is all about who they want to put in office, at any cost.

Nope, nothing but my speculation...why should I need anymore? That's what the left say anyway....

My whole argument is, (DC at the Ridge) said the door was wide open...I asked "if the door was wide open, then why the court case?" If the door is WIDE open....which DC at the Ridge agreed with me, saying the court agreed...so again why bring it to court?

So you think that the current admin had nothing to do with taking Arizona to court?

Then how can the door be wide open? If it was destined to go to court as soon as it was signed?

If Obozo was so concerned about immigration reform why didn't he pass it through reconciliation? He did it when he couldn't get the votes to pass Obozocare.

If immigration reform was that important it would have been done.
Obamacare got done should be proof enough.
