I'm a bit undecided. I think Ron Paul is the better man in the entire field of candidates, including the dems. However, though I am a Libertarian, I am not an isolationist, as is Paul. I'd like to see Paul elected, so that he could promote his fiscal ideals, but I'd like his isolationism squelched a bit. If he drops out, which I doubt, I don't think his votes will got to Dems, but a more fiscal conservative such as Thompson.

I love all Ron Paul's ideas!!! He will also get the Libertarian nod and really shake up the mix in Washington. Nothing like having a rebel who is not afraid to be outside the ol' boys network. Did you know he has one of the most subscribed to you tube sites?

That's a good sign. I just hope its not for the wrong reasons. I believe that many are intrigued by his isolationist foreign policy, though he is registered as a Republican. I hope these same individuals will seriously look at his fiscal policies and realize the need for and the constitutional demand of a smaller federal government, coupled with individual liberties and personal responsibility.

Does voting your principles mean anything anymore? If one candidate, for the most part, stands by your principles, both economically and socially, then why not vote for that candidate whether he has 2% support or 50%. I plan to support Ron Paul in the primary. Hopefully he'll still be there. The other GOP candidates just don't measure up with me. I would never vote for Hiliary (END BUSH/CLINTON INC PRESIDENCY)

As for McCain, I wouldn't be surprised if he runs as an independent in Nov/08 just out of spite. He seems to be like that.

Let's project.

What if every single person who voted Republican (62,040,606) in the 2004 Presidential race, voted Republican in 2008? 2% of that number is 1,240,812.

The only thing lower is Keith Olbermann's total viewers (682,000 - second quarter of 2007) and I don't know how he stays on the air, either.

That's about the size of Ron Paul's support and there are others with half of that amount. Even if Ron Paul's support was 5 times greater than it is now, he'd still have less support than 4th place Mitt Romney.

I still have to wonder --- when is the time for Tommy Thompson, Brownback, Huckabee, Paul, Tancredo and Hunter to pull the plug and where would that support go?

If Paul gets elected, he's going to have to play ball with congress. There won't be a magic wand wave and suddenly he will have his way with everything. For that alone, I don't see his more constitutionalist policies being passed without some compromises. Few presidents manage to get anything through congress without compromise and I doubt Paul will be any different.

What I will be satisfied with, should this miracle occur, is that we will have an ethical president who treats and abides the constitution with respect. We will have someone who will at least try to begin dismantling the hydra our government has become, returning it to something our ancestors would recognize.

Unless something is exposed as a problem in his past, I think it goes to Fred Thompson. I still can't see it going to Romney, how do you go from the Governor of the state of Kerry and Kennedy to a bedrock conservative???

I'm voting for who I like best, period, and unless something changes, my vote is staying with Ron Paul. It is very obvious that the MSM and the top tier Rep and Dems alike want to downplay him as much as possible, most likely because he doesn't sleep with their lobbyists and eat from the politically corrupt cookie jar they all pull their funds from.

If Paul and many other "conservatives" back out I suspect that many of them will go for Thompson, even though he's more mainstream republican than the others mentioned above.
