In other words, we just let it go broke and die all on it's own. You made your bed and now lie in it, syndrome.

Don't try to fix it.
See how that works for you.

Nope.

In other words, you want to pretend that the budget cannot be balanced unless we cut middle class entitlements such as Medicare and Social Security.

This is a total right wing fabrication designed to dupe low IQ GOP base voters into voting against their own self interest.

Again....Anybody can balance the Federal budget without touching Medicare or Social security.

Yeah, there's is MORE than ONE WAY to balance the budget - and the wingnuts just don't seem to UNDERSTAND THAT. They seem to be simply fixiated on JUST ONE APPROACH.

BTW: That's a REALLY great link. Can't rep you again right now though so this () will have to do.

Thanks.

I haven't heard any plan, from either political party, that promises to keep Social Security and Medicare around for even the next 10 years. Neither party will cut the Offense budget, though that seems like common sense--but there's none of that in Washington.

Yet even now, we aren't allowed to "opt out" of the failed system. No doubt my family will still be expected to pay large taxes for these Ponzi Scams even after we're told we don't "qualify" for the benefits.

Our political system is incapable of fixing the problems it creates with its insatiable greed for power and money, combined with total corruption and ineptitude. All it can do is "kick the can" down the road a bit more, verbally take away a bit more of the benefits that are already impossible to provide, and hope the collapse holds off until the next guy's watch.

The sooner we productive people "Go Galt," the sooner we'll stop throwing the good money after bad.

It's always the same with these right wing posts.

1) Devoid of data to back up their crazy myths.
2) No names of objective experts to support their assertions.
3) It's 100%, factless talking points repeated over and over from right wing witch doctors designed to scare people.

It's a bit disingenious to say that President Obama signed for the continuation of the Bush Tax Cuts when the Republican Party held the entire budget process hostage based on their insistence that those cuts continue.

The point is not that he doesn't win every battle, but that he doesn't try.

He doesn't use the bully pulpit.....He doesn't fight with the tools at his disposal.

I told people during the primaries this very thing.

He has a zero record of sticking his neck out for principles.

All his claimed values and principles are negotiable if will increase his political capital.

And remember! .....There is no need to cut Medicare or Social Security in order to balance the Federal budget.

They NEVER talk about cutting the military, or restoring the tax rates on the wealthy by a few percentage points.

In a day and age when the gap between rich and poor is the greatest in our Nation's history, (Census finds record gap between rich and poor - 2010 Census - Salon.com)

40 out of 47 GOP Senators voted to cut your future Medicare benefits. All 52 Dem Senators voted no.
And Obama lost his attempt to offer a budget with both Democrats and Republicans standing firm with a 97-0 loss. Guess everyone thought Obama was worse than this was (even to Democrats), at least this bill got 40 votes.

Your math skills are showing again...No Dem voted for the GOP plan....no Dem voted for the Obama proposal.....That' no indication Dems dislike the Obama plan more so....That's all in your head.

And BTW, I'm glad Obama plan was voted down...it was just a milder version of the GOP plan that would erode middle class benefits and let the rich and corporations off the hook.

First, Obama just stole a half trillion from Medicare with Obamacare. Social Security is broke because politicians also have stolen all deposits for decades now. Shows how all along they should have had a balanced budget amendment.
Social services safety nets need to be slashed after 6 months except for the very disabled.
Government union employees need to be fired on a mass scale and reduce to comparative population numbers of employment comparable to the 60s.
Do that and you start to get Medicare and SS better off.

This is a total right wing fabrication designed to dupe low IQ GOP base voters into voting against their own self interest. What is a total fabrication? There is NO F'ING MONEY.

Again....Anybody can balance the Federal budget without touching Medicare or Social security. Not if they are politicians and don't have a required balanced budget amendment they won't.

No more kicking this down the road. There just is no more road.
