Most Christians have never even read or studied their Bibles (hence why they make so many inaccurate claims on what it says in the original languages). Having a pastor tell you what to believe doesn't make you a real Christian either.

Really? So all the 1st and 2nd Century Christians weren't real Christians since they didn't have a Bible?

The Bible is not God. Stop treating it as such.

Nah fundie refers to the Christian Fundamentalist movement, which was invented in the 19th and 20th Century in the US. It created an inerrant/infallible Bible doctrine, and Young Earth Creationism.

The Bible commands us to stone unruly children who backtalk to their parents. So if that woman's out of wedlock child becomes a problem child, yes, he is to be stoned.

The Bible is a bunch of second/third/fourth/fifth/sixth/seventh/eighth/ninth/so on information that's been passed on by biased humans, orally, throughout the course of thousands of years. I wouldn't hold it so dearly if I were you...

Lol, and yet Christian marriages are the ones most likely to end in divorce.

In the US they are, since the US has the largest population of Conservative/Fundamentalist Christians on the planet. Most European countries, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, have larger segments of liberal/moderate Christians.

There were lots of things that led to the fall of the Roman Empire. Overexpansion, Germanic expansion, food shortages, rise of Christianity, loss of military power, economic collapse, etc.

Hedonism was not the cause of the fall.

Again, that is a product of the liberalization and perversion of Christianity as well as the meaning of marriage. The divorce rates are only separated by fractal percentages yet you'll pull that out as if it's making a case against religion. You can't divorce someone you're living out of wedlock with, and this is a part of the equation that is coveniently ignored.

As a whole the citizenry have been lowering the bars of civil behavior for most of the last hundred years. Look at politicians, all of them, and tell me we haven't gone backwards. Don't blame religion just because you aren't religious, blame the human condition for that is something none of us can distance ourselves from.

I think of practicing Jews as a real minority because they make up 1% of the population. But the fact that Christians make up over 80% of the USA and their doctrine is relatively authoritarian and strict tells me I'm being lied to by a bunch of con-artists.
This is what makes me feel like a minority:

I live in Raleigh, NC - ajacent to Garner, NC, of current American Idol fame. I also work with highly functioning autistic adults and other young people with disabilities. Some followed the show and wanted to attend the local finals viewing in honor of the local contestant.

So there we are. Lots of people. Tons of kids. Lots of fun.

Then, into the program, on the jumbotron, we are treated to Lady Gaga dry humping her way through a song. Beyonce wails, repeatedly, for someone, anyone, to make love to her. And we get to watch J-Lo's butt gyrate for extended periods of time.

Did I see that coming? No, just lots of folks out for a fun night watching "local boy makes good."

Yes, I feel like a minority.
