If Anthony Weiner's secret, sordid Internet life doesn't end his political career, his lies should

Quote:
It seemed inconceivable that Anthony Weiner was not just a bald-faced liar but a relentless, calculating, remorseless and aggressively pugnacious bald-faced liar. But that's who Weiner was last week, lying interview after lying interview after lying interview.

To deny Weiner the benefit of the doubt then required also judging him to be an immature, reckless, cowardly man who had no respect for his wedding vows and was willing to cast the woman to the lions to save his own craven skin.
He needs to go......but he would be valuable for the 2012 election...for the GOP.

Sanford was missing for several days, didn't even tell his staff where he was going other than hiking on the Appalachian Trail. He fell in love so he gets a bye?

Congressmen on both sides have been caught up in some type of misbehavior, less than half actually resigned. This is not a bipartisan issue, these congressmen open themselves to be compromised. They should resign from office period, as they have demonstrated poor judgement.

Why would anyone defend this guys actions? Just because he didn't campiagn on family values doesn't mean he shouldn't have some!

It's not like he is gonna be replaced by a (R).. he will get replaced by a (D) and probably someone with a little more character, someone that you might just be proud to have affiliated with your party. Wiener will always have an asterick by his name and no one will take him seriously, he is more of a distraction and albatross to the Dems than anything..

I thought Sanford resigned...in disgrace....after the drumbeat rolled on.

Same for Lee, Foley and Craig.

Poor judgment? Yes. Immature behavior? Yes. Compromised? Definitely. These dirt bags on both sides have place themselves into positions whereby they could be blackmailed. Weiner had no idea who these women were. Any one of them could have said, "I want $50,000 to keep quiet". To say this is between Weiner, his wife and his constituents is short sighted. ALL people in Congress make decisions that affect every single one of us since they vote on issues that affect us all. Is it asking too much that our legislators, at ANY level, conduct themselves so as to be above such shenanigans?

If Weiner resigns it will be because he can no longer work effectively with the Dems in the House or it is found that he broke the Law somewhere.
