If liberals are so smart why do the act so stupid? It was liberals that put the country in the mess it's in. It's liberals who engage us in most wars. It's liberals who spend money we don't have. It's liberals who encourage welfare. It's liberals, with their claimed high IQ's that have f'ed this country up to the point where it may no longer be the same country many of us grew up in.

Yeah, liberals are smart, all right.

That would be the top 15 countries external debt. In case you don't notice they' represent the West. That means that the most indebted countries in the world are the West.

And you want more and more freebies?

Meanwhile, back on the ranch:

And you want even more freebies?

I don't get it. When another country wants to increase its standard or living, that is a threat. When our own capitalist class preys on its fellow citizens (mortgage backed securities?), it is the key to prosperity. If trickle down from the rich to the rest can occur, why not trickle down prosperity from opening markets? Why is one a dire threat and the other not?

If you said the "race to the bottom," what ideology would you associate that with?

Now picture the race to the bottom with too many people on the planet.

That's where we're headed and there's absolutely nothing you, or anyone else, can do about it short of more wars and territorial/resource conquest.

Good question! I don't know the answer.

But I know who is driving the racecars. The same rich Americans who we cut taxes on, only so they could open that new foreign operation...how about those Bush tax cuts, have they been filling your pockets yet?

I wouldn't use questionable and weak sources as evidence, but you go on, you can have that...

especially when one of your own sources didn't even really show much in support of your bases in the difference of eduction between the left and right:

http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/re...xit-polls.html

under education:

under the College Graduate or more:

Obama: 53%
McCain: 45%

that's less then a 10% difference and taking in the margin for error, its even less....and to somehow take that as "evidence" that there is a vast gulf of intelligence between the left and right...because you "have smarts" (still waiting for you to explain that one)...

ok, you can have the "we smart" thing...and we can have the "more caring" one...

conservatives more generous than liberals

deal?...I mean I know you people claim to be the ones who "care" but we are the ones who truly do, sorry, that is the "evidence"...

1. Intelligence and virtue, ethics, morals, whatever you want to call it, are not synonymous. This whole thread testifies to that.

2. Your reference to the country having changed in ways that distress you is a central goal of progressives. You're in their way.

3. When these conversations crop up, be happy to number yourself among the dimwitted, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing social conservatives -- the ones who obey the laws, pay our taxes, revere our families, teach our kids to have manners and respect for their others, and worry every day and night about the future in a country increasingly dominated by highly intelligent progressive authoritarians, who frown on dissent, eschew hope, mock spiritual beliefs, and find any sense of civic duty laughable.

You know there is a lot of BS when someone tries to imply political preference and intelligence... there is very little credibility in people who try to use propaganda for ideological purposes...

Yeah, liberals are smart, all right.
1. Um...Iraq and Afghanistan were begun under a Republican administration
2. Reagan and Bush racked up HUGE deficits. Clinton had three balanced budgets
3. Welfare reform occured under...wait for it...Clinton!

Don't think I need to say anymore here.
