Probably won't get any of the "Oil Comp employees" in the House and Senate to back them up, but some Dems are trying to do something.

Doesn't make since that in 2008 it took $150 oil to get $4 gas and in 2011 we have $4 gas at $100 oil. Somebody is getting filthy rich off this.

I guess we could feel happy for those few who are making so much from this. I am sure they will wind up hiring a lot of people just to help them carry their money to the Bank. Isn't that the way "trickle on" economics works?

Excuse me, but Government makes over half dollar on a gallon of gas, meanwhile the oil company gets about 10% of the profit our government makes (and for that the government wants to chase them?). The ones wanting investigations needs to be investigated IMO.

If oil companies lost money and were staffed with union labor, we'd see the same posters calling to bail them out (and defacto run) rather than bitching about their profits.

Gasoline tax information - New York City Gas Prices

Chuckie needs to look at taxes charged per gallon of gas. Maybe some of his beef should be with the state legislatures.

It wouldn't surprise me if Dems were investigating why gas prices are high to try and figure out a way to make them even higher.

Actually many refineries are unionized, don't know about the oilfields.

Right.................. that is laughable. They should investigate themselves and Obama.

Want lower gas prices?

1. Allow greater US exploration including ANWAR
2. Lift the ban off drilling off CA
3. Lift the Obama ban on drilling in the gulf
4. Allow the production of new refineries
5. Oppose the Obama initiated closure of existing refineries
6. Eliminate different "blends" mandated by the EPA for different regions
7. Remove restrictions and allow expansion of domestic coal and natural gas reserves

In short, reverse all liberal policies related to energy. It is shocking and amazing that ANY LIBERAL would complain about gas prices, as the very policies they endorse CAUSE HIGH GAS PRICES!

You are so wrong on so many levels you are beyond redemption. For anyone else reading, however, there is this: oil for transportation is obsolete. The quicker we transition to an alternative form of energy for transportation the better. Notice I said "energy" and not "fuel". There is a small but vocal hydrogen fuel minority. There are the natural gas for transportation fuel advocates. Fuels require mining, refining and distribution. The model is perfected in the crude oil paradigm. It has made oil industry executives and affiliated persons BILLIONS in profits. What is there not to like in establishing a hydrogen or natural gas infrastructure that concentrates wealth at the top.
There is no excuse for being pro oil or pro hydrogen or pro natural gas for transportation except that one is invested in that industry. That is, I imagine sufficient personal motivation to defend these industries but it should not sway an objective reader without a financial interest.
