You would think Americans would be against this...

Obama in violation of War Powers Act? | The Opinion Zone blog | The Palm Beach Post

Quote:
Several lawmakers, including Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Tequesta, testified before a House committee that President Obama is in violation of the War Powers Act for failing to get proper congressional approval to continue U.S. operations against Libya.
But you would be wrong.

It's easy when no cares in the slightest. Barely a whisper. When I bring it up IRL, people just shrug and say he's president.

It has certainly been one of my breaking points with government.

Certainly a worthy question and one that many Americans have squirmed with more than a few times.

I guess the popular consensus is that if OUR "security" is involved it doesn't matter.

Morality and law have both played second fiddle to imperialism and intimidation in the past.

Will this conclude with an eventual day of reckoning?

Because the right does whatever it wants and could care less about the constitution. Bush and CO. should be in jail right now.

What about Libya? According to you, Obama should be in jail for a few things.

Partisan idiocy.
Why hasn't Obama ended the wars instead of starting another?

Has already pulled troops out of Iraq though he should pull them out of both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Though the faux outrage on the right is just BS. Obama has not declared war or put "boots on the ground" If we had a republican president right now, Libya would have been invaded a long time ago and if Obama did decide to go to war with Libya, the right in the house would give him a blank check in the second.

1. There ARE boots on the ground. They are called special ops and CIA. Also, there are reports of western forces on the ground there.
2. The pullout of Iraq was set up by Bush years ago.
