Well im not an insurance company but I dont like when my doctor has to poke and prod me for 30min putting me through a littany of expensive tests (which taxpayers pay for) when I have any minor ache and pain...just so they don't get sued.

You clearly know nothing at all of Ron Paul.

Lay off the crack pipe and get informed. Paul was one of the most outspoken deficit critics during the Bush years.

And as a result you are arguing that we enact something that already exists in most of the country and has been proven not to work in regards to controlling malpractice insurance premiums?

What most people don't get is that it isn't just companies heading overseas. I seem to remember reading that the 2010 US census showed a mass migration of people out of the US. The only reason the population is going up is due to... you guessed it, II. Any nation needs a growing populous in order to grow the economy. Politicians actually need illegal aliens to keep their precious programs funded.

Consider that it's the wealthiest people who can afford to leave. Because the cream rises to the top (and packs their bags), we are slowly turning into a third world country. Is it a wonder 42M people are on food stamps.

TRUE tort reform has NOT been enacted anywhere in this country.

Take a look at the other G8 countries rules on suing doctors then get back to me.

You do realize there is something called the 7th amendment right?

True, steven, there has been a change of home country for a good chunk of the formerly wealthy Americans. Assuming Obama wins in 12, by 2016, he'll make the image of his party worse than the image during the peanut farmers last few months.

Dont give me that, there's plenty of exceptions to the 7th amendment. Try suing someone acting as a good Samaritan that ends up cracking your ribs while providing CPR.

So if some random Joe schmo has protection from lawsuits why shouldn't doctors?

So you want statutes that just wholesale take away a person's right to sue a doctor? I would be inclined to change medical malpractice to a system like workers comp, but just wholesale taking away any liability is insane.

balancing the budget is on every liberal's mind, we just don't believe in getting rid of medicare, social security to do it. Increase revenues by taxing the rich.. and cut corporate subsidies as well as military budgets. I guarantee if you cut on the HUGE defense budget and all the corporate subsidies along with increasing taxes on the wealthy.. you'll have a balanced budget.
Conservative voters want to balance the budget, but conservative politicians only SAY they want to balance the budget and do nothing of the sort. cutting medicare, SS and the like will only free up more money for their rich corporate friends..that is all they're after. If they cared about balancing the budget they would have done it 6-10 years ago and they didn't. They created this.. don't forget that!
