It was her choice to fly, if her son was so concerned he should have explained it to her before she went through the process, amazing he decided to film her LOL
In the movie "Brazil" from 1985 which takes place in an Orwellian world, there is a sign on a wall that says "Security Breeds Contempt". Quite appropriate here I would imagine.
Those "in charge" of us WANT us to hold them in contempt so that they can apply more final solutions. In effect, they want us to imprison ourselves. It makes their job easier. That we have been pushed so far with so little response must make them scratch their heads in amazement. Even lemmings are now taking their cues from Americans.
And they want to do this at public events, on trains and even malls. We're having cameras and recording equipment installed everywhere, the government and legal authorities can record you without your consent or without a court order but when you record THEM they go ape**** and say ist against the law. Can you say " nazis"?
If the Airlines have PRIVATELY owned property that they want to protect by having people searched that voluntarily chose to board them then arnt you infringing on that private business right to have a search conducted for them for people choosing to board their property by their own free will?
Be a wonderful change. Six months and all that nonsense would be gone and we will all be back to the days when flying was not a state regulated task requiring direct personal embarassment.
You think a business man would be dumb enough to subject his customers to that sort of thing?
Give the Airlines the choice and it is all gone in six months or less.

Will the airlines agree to be responsible for any and all acts of terrorism that may occur on their flights? If so, I say go for it. If not, the government needs to oversee security for the airlines.

Actually that is exactly how it was all those years. And we got along fine.
The early days one did not cooperate with a highjacker...you were supposed to fight them all the way. Then the bureaucrats got into it and decided it would be better to cooperate with the highjackers. And there is the root of 9/11. None of those planes would have ended up where they did if the passengers and crew had fought. I expect most of them would in fact have lived. The United Flight passengers took the plane back but too late.

No major airline company is going to risk the loss of human life due to a suicide bomber or highjacker because some woman feigned hysteria at being patted down. The agents could have taken her away for a full strip search, which would have been truly humiliating. The first airline to advertise boarding without security searches will lose customers, not gain them...and would be "all gone in six months or less."

You are kidding. I did roughly 5 million airline miles. If you think any heavy traveler is afraid of terrorists or highjackers you are quite incorrect.
Those kind of travelers care about 30 minute connection in Chicago.
