I lived throught the Carter years when the economy was as bad or worse than today. Reagan was the perfect, optomistic leader to help pull the country out of those hard times. Although I wasn't around during the depression I suspect FDR was a similar type of personality (although I don't agree with many things he did). Obama doesn't fit that mold nor do any of the Republican candidates. Is there a Reagan/Roosevelt type leader on the scene today? I can't think of any. Do you think we will be able to turn things around without someone like that?

This is not meant to be a debate on the relative merits of Reagan or FDR but more about their style of leadership.
