I've been wondering that how can America get out of this rough economy that it's in, and I've also been wondering how did this country get into this situation in the first place.
Dont let obama get re-elected! Get someone in the office that understands that small businesses create the jobs not the GOV! That we CAnnot SPEND more than we have! Someone that is NOT Anti-AMERICAN!
As for on how to try to get out of the recession, bringing back jobs to America and ending or reducting outsourcing is what I think will pull us out of the recession.
This tends to be a view shared by a large number of Americans, including politicians, from both parties. Unfortunately, I believe that this is not the right solution. Outsourcing is a 'natural' process stemming from globalization, economic development and the operation of relatively free markets. It is one of those things that a capitalist world economy will naturally promote. Rather than fight it, we need to recognize that as we loose our comparative advantage in certain areas (namely, manufacturing of non-high tech goods) we are going to loose businesses and jobs in those areas no matter what. If we try to fight this with trade protectionism, then we are going to not only get ourselves into a trade war but we are also going to hurt all Americans since all Americans are consumers and protectionism hurts consumers at the expense of producers and those employed in the productive industries in question.
So what is the solution then? At least for the long-term, we need to recognize that some outsourcing is inevitable. People are going to lose jobs to foreign countries that are able to produce the same goods at a lower cost. Instead of trying to stop this, which would only delay it and eventually make the situation worse, we need to undergo the painful but needed process of transitioning to a more high-tech and even more service-sector oriented economy. To do this, the government needs to extend unemployment benefits and have free job re-training programs for those workers who are displaced due to outsourcing. Beyond that, we need to actively promote the growth of industries that we do or easily can have a comparative advantage in which means growing our high-tech industries and our service-sector. Additionally, we need to improve our education system to make sure that it is better geared towards our economies needs and to ensure that it actually gives everyone a fair chance at a good education.

No, America is not going to get out of this.
We got into this mess because we tried to subsidize our living standard until the rest of the world caught up to us, it's not happening. Only one way to go after that...
You remember when your mother told you to fill your plate thinking about your stomach and not with your eyes? That wasn't such a commonly taught thing as it should have been.
One good thought though; the end of America doesn't look like something out of the end times of the bible, it'll look more like the former U.S.S.R. which is rather ironic considering it went under because of communism and we're going under because of our admiration for the thoughts behind communism even if we abhor it because of its opposition to the Founding Fathers and their documents which established this country.
According to everything the GOP has been saying and doing over the past few years, the problem with America's economy is that the wealthy don't yet control enough of our resources.
Jobs come from people starting businesses. Business needs stable rules to prosper. Lowering the cost of doing business in the US would also help bring prosperity. I'm in the Hayek camp:

Gotta admit, the rich have it tough in America.
I agree and that is the core of the problem. Reagan got the wheels turning and Bush kicked it into overdrive with turning america into a military industrialized corporatist/neo-fascist state. Now they have gone off the charts right with the tea party trying to destroy the past 50+ years of growth that made this country great. This corporatism/fascism needs to be stopped or we will end up like a 3rd world country and/or other hard right nations like Somalia or Saudi Arabia.

We have a very strong rule-of-law in this country, as do virtually all developed countries, and that has helped attract businesses. The cost of doing business, furthermore, is also not very high in the US (despite the beliefs of so many Americans). The problem is that our own wealth has made us uncompetitive in a lot of manufacturing industries that once helped drive our economy. We won't gain that competitiveness back, not in those sectors, not as long as we remain a wealthy, developed country. As such, the real thing that we need is to make the desire to start up businesses in entirely new, high-tech sectors is imperative. We need to provide much more money for innovation, for R&D. We need to have job retraining programs coupled with unemployment benefit programs to help train those who are unemployed for the 'jobs of the future.' We need to subsidize high-tech industries (such as the 'Green Sector Industries' which are becoming popular in several developed countries) that we can develop a comparative advantage in. Our problem is we are clinging to jobs and industries that simply can't work efficiently in a fully developed, modernized, rich country like the US. We need to be focused on transitioning to new industries instead.

Do you even freaking realize what people "advise" Obama on economic policy?
It's not your layman you seem to think your fellow democrats in power are for but it is the head honchos at some of the largest companies around.
Now they're whispering in the ear of Obama what rules and regulations should be put into working order because they're there for you. In fact they're standing behind you and they don't even have Vaseline.
It is actually rather simple, one big national spending spree.
Obama's been there and done that.
