I bet pretty soon the government will force tanners to wear welding masks so they won't notice that gigantic bright yellow thing in the sky. Rumor has it this bright thingy is as effective as a tanning bed.
Who said the government is forcing people to tan? Is it backwards day?

I'm saying people should be able to tan without the government going through their wallet/purse while they are on the bed.

End these silly idiot taxes on personal behavior.
It will never get through the Senate. But the effort will appeal to the Right Wing sun tan set.

I'm for taxing behaviors that are harmful to your health. Why should my insurance premiums go up because you want to give yourself cancer just to look good?
If you are looking at the tax code to help eliminate behaviors that contribute to society's economic obligation, there are many more to add to the list. Unwed pregnancies, incarceration, dropping out of school are all behaviors that contribute to the economic burden. Perhaps these people should also be taxed to help them "pay their keep".

Why should my taxes go up because you were too stupid to use a condom, go to class, or not commit a crime?

Why should my taxes go up because you polluted the environment, made risky investments that endangered the economic stability of this country and layed off workers so you could outsource jobs to emerging market countries and make huge profits?

You're right government should tax behaviors that contribute to socieity's obligation.

Wow. Liberals here really like taxing personal behavior. With that, hopefully we can get a 25000% abortion tax to make the procedure unaffordable: truly you'll support this since you seem to like taxing personal behavior.

I absolutely love how they play both sides of the fence on the "how dare other people make me pay for their personal behavior" argument.

Sure as hell hasn't stopped many of those who support health care reform from demanding that the mostly healthy and non-hypochondriac people people pay into a system to help fund the costs of those sickly individuals, having to pay for every single one of their life choices that made them the sickly individual they are, expecting others to help foot the bill for them.

And just to tie this back to abortion, since you mentioned it, I love how many of them are advocating that society writ large pays for abortion services through tax money and various social programs such that other people have to pay for what is almost always the poor choices of others.
