I was # 100 to say "yes"... but the longer he will stay the harder the Dem. will get it...

Weiner has no other skills to fall back on...he is not a lawyer or business man....his career was in politics and when that is over than he can work perhaps at McDonalds if he doesn't get convicted or labeled a "sex Offender"...

And why do you care about that? Even though it is wrong that involved a minor, it is still none of your business. You're just like those group of people who love to read and speak gossip about celebrities.

Whether Congressman Weiner resign is a purely personal decision involving the Congressmen and his family unless his constituency deems that such a resignation is in their interest.

Just like Henry Hyde, Livingston, Craig, Gingrich, Schrock, Giorando...the list goes on and on. The leaders of the Democratic party have asked for his resignation and Pelosi has asked the ethics committee to look into it. They have moved faster than the GOP ever did in its scandals.

Congressman Craig Lee resigned the same day.

Celebrity gossip is a blood sport that adds nothing of value to society.

You have no clue how liberals think or what our collective values are. So I'll tell what one flaming liberal thinks: What Wiener did was dangerous and wrong and that kind of behavior is especially bad in a politician because they could so easily get blackmailed in a worst case scenario. Wiener gambled away his career and reputation for cheap thrills and for lack of impulse control. If that isn’t an addiction, I don’t know what is. He needs help. I'm mad at him. Sad for him and mourning the loss of all he could have done for the Democratic party if he had kept his nose squeaky clean. But he got caught up in destructive behavior, for whatever personal failing. Does that mean he's not redeemable as a human being with something valuable to still add to the world? If he's not redeemable then are any of us when we sin? Wiener needs to step down, take a few years off---maybe work in the media the way Elliot S. is, or as a lobbyist---and then see where he's at with his addictive behavior before deciding if a he has what it takes to try for a comeback in politics. Or find out through therapy if politics is really what he's even wanted for a career these past twenty years---maybe his destructive behavior was telling him otherwise. Only time will tell if he'll spiral downward or upward. In the meantime, it’s a sad statement on our society that so many so-call good people have such a sick need and glee to watch and cheer another human being self-destructing before their eyes. I'm disgusted by all the morally superior types---many right in this thread---who gloat and salivate over of every Wiener picture, sex-text, article, and interview and don't recognize the voyeurism and vicarious titillation exhibited in themselves by doing so.
