I have read through this whole thread. I STILL haven't heard anyone give an intelligent explanation for why us using borrowed money to help bail out another country is a good idea.

All I've heard are snarky comments like, "Go read the WSJ." Well, if you understand why this is a great idea, enlighten us. I'm totally serious. I have an open mind and I'd love to know why we are doing this.

The power of propaganda is amazing, isn't it? Just remember, the terrorists will kill you if we don't take away your freedom. Obviously, the Sept 11th attacks were caused by the lack of government intrusion into our lives. The fact that the US spent trillions of dollars to make sure that they could control the outcome of wars around the world or exert influence on other countries had nothing to do with why those people organized and flew halfway around the world to kill Americans.

You're generalizing! This American does have a problem! This American is tired of playing the world cop! This American is tired of having over 100 different military bases all over the world and having our troops die in bulls*** wars based on corporate interests, and doing so under the guise of humanitarian aide! Yet in the 90s our country DIDN'T LIFT A FINGER to help Rawanda when there was mass genocide going on! We b*** and moan about the drug cartels in Mexico, at the same time bomb Libya but yet we don't do s*** to solve the problems in our own hemisphere! This American also has a problem with employers doing various checks such as drug, nicotine or credit checks, and I most certainly have a problem with the government butting in more and more into our personal lives trying to tell us how to live, because of those out there who b*** and moan about what is or isn't good for us! Yeah, I have a huge problem with it, and I know that there are those on this board that agree with me. When you have TSA agents groping 8 year olds at the airport, that's a problem!

There's no B.Sing. it anymore but now were are bailing out the world? WTF
Yes yes I realize we have been doing this all along but times are different....WERE BROKE!

So we borrow money from China with interest and bail out the rest of the world which we will never get fully paid back....I doubt we will even get the interest payments back.

How about we just tell China to lend the money instead of us borrowing it?....You know why....Because they're not that FKING STUPID!
We are!!!!

And people out there are going to try and tell me the destruction of the U.S. is not coming..

Socialism/Liberalism/Progessivism is one big FKING failure and the U.S. taxpayer is on the hook.

We should work 'til we're 75 so the Greeks can retire at 45. Right?

And so many believed that "They hate us for our freedom"-BS instead of questioning US' foreign policies.

And sadly you are right. Hey as long as we have NASCAR, American Idol, and Dancing With The Stars, it's all good!
