great, so get the 1% for paying off the debt, and have the citizens stop paying income taxes altogether. sounds good to me, where do I sign up for that?

I don't really think about race when considering political decisions.

Maybe you should.

Your post seems to play into some racial stereotypes, which does nothing but perpetuate racism. Personally, I don't like racism, so I don't consider race when making decisions. Personally, race doesn't even cross my mind until someone of minority status uses it as an excuse for why they don't have a great job. Race is as big of a deal as hair color or the size of a person's ears, and matters as much to me regarding qualifications for employment.

How nice for you that you can literally rise above it all and consider only the pure objective. Some of us can't. You say you don't consider race. Obviously that is not true for all people in positions of decision making. The FACT is still that the public sector is by far the largest source of employment for non-white people. Especially African Americans. Significantly reducing the size of the Federal workforce would significantly impact the fortunes of African Americans. Period.

Taken in their entirety your six point program would wipe out the black race in America. Personally I have a problem with that. Especially when your six point program would not really do anything about the National Debt it would just give Conservatives the emotional satisfaction of finally doing something decisive and harsh to punish the unworthy.

See the response by flash3780. Flash - thank you.

I am not sure how to respond to this, other than by saying you are an unbelievably racist person. Please consider Flash's response. As long as you keep your same attitude, racism will continue to be a problem in America.

Racism is a minor problem compared with the problems of having a special class of the sacred wealthy running the country for their benefit at our expense. They collect the taxes extorted out of the rest of us and never pick up their fair share of the costs.

That pretty much is the plan. It will never get thru Congress however. Think about, when one large multinational Company buys another big Company, for multiple billions, they would would have to pay a 1% tax on that. Congress would never allow such a great burden to be put on them.

You are right. The lower incomes in America do collect taxes from those of us who actually work for a living without paying their share of the cost.

It looks like you misprinted 'low income' with 'wealthy' though. The wealthy are the ones propping up those who sit back and take all the benefits of the hard work the rest of us do.

I said what I meant. The productive classes (workers, farmers, servants) have always propped up the financial aristocrats and you saying it is not so does not make it not so. Besides it takes orders of magnitudes more money to support Lord Fauntleroy than it does to support some young mother on welfare.

Is that why the top 10% of income earners pay 71% of all federal taxes?

How can you, with a straight face, say that 90% of incomes paying 29% of taxes is 'propping up' those who pay 71%?
