Whenever you're ready to give up your lifestyle and standard of living maybe we can end the "death squads" and you can be one proud again of your country....
I'm 58 so I have been around for awhile and have seen much, do you have anything intelligent to ask?
Well your focus on such a small aspect of what was going on at the time speaks volumes about your actual interest in the "death squads" you happened to mention.

I live a simple lifestyle, when did I say I was not proud of my country, I love my country.
What I am not proud of is the actions of those that control it (MIC) which is made up of a very small minority.
Ronald Reagan closed down the mental institutions and put the people on our streets. That was not an act of compassion and kindness by any stretch of the imagination. We as a nation are still experiencing the effects from that cause.
That was JFK, not Reagan. As to the effects, we see them here on C-D. They call themselves 'progressives'.

The killings continue as I type.
They literally laid out exactly what caused the destruction of the SU in all its glory but still refuse and utterly dismiss the Reagan administration. They claimed it was a surprise to the Reagan administration.
Umm...

I have discussed on other occasions, including my address on May 9th, the elements of Western policies toward the Soviet Union to safeguard our interests and protect the peace. What I am describing now is a plan and a hope for the long term—the march of freedom and democracy which will leave Marxism-Leninism on the ash-heap of history as it has left other tyrannies which stifle the freedom and muzzle the self-expression of the people.
After the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, King Fahd joined with the United States to aid Afghans fighting the Russians. Hume Horan, a former United States ambassador to Saudi Arabia, wrote in a 2004 article for the American Enterprise Institute that William J. Casey, then director of central intelligence, visited the king in 1987.
The American brought a shiny, detailed Kalashnikov rifle. Its stock featured a brass plaque saying that the weapon had been taken from the body of a Russian officer.
''Mr. Casey might as well have been giving the keys to the Kingdom of God itself,'' Mr. Horan wrote. ''The king rose, flourished the weapon, and struck a martial pose.''
This Reagan obsession has become nauseating. However; he's the one that taught me to never ever, ever vote for the republicans.
