I applaud them. Now if only the rest of the states would fall inline. Like someone else said, if you cannot find a job in 99 weeks, well, so sorry too sad.

And, if all you liberal's want to help these "poor unfortunates." Sell EVERYTHING you own, eat Top Ramen ONLY, live under and underpass in a cardboard box, and GIVE all of YOUR money to these "unfortunates." When you do that, I'll THINK about kicking in more of my money. Until then, you are merely a hypocrite, wanting to give other people's money away.

Please explain to the rest of the world how removing unemployment benefits (from people who were laid off, btw) brings jobs back to a state with one of the highest unemployment rates where most of the job losses came because people stopped buying and building houses and other property?

Oh, yeah, it doesn't.

Also, I love your typical word vomit in that last little paragraph. Yeah "liberal's" don't pay taxes. Got it.

Our 60-year-old son lost his computer graphics job to India. He was laid off two years ago. He has sent out hundreds of resumes, attended job fairs, applied at temporary agencies, knocked on doors, all without any luck. He has applied for many jobs other than in the computer-graphics field.

"He spent his savings, cashed in his 401(k), and finally had to move in with us because he had no money left. He didn't apply for unemployment until he had used up all his own resources."

So workingasshero what do you say now?

Another conservative myth true believers take on faith.

The median duration of unemployment is 22 weeks and the average is 40.

If your claim is so well documented, please provide us with a link to the documentation, other than some conservative source of course.

Please someone explain the ethics in taking money from those who work and giving it to select numbers of those who don't?

Or is money now considered a "right"

Their solution to that is speed up the 2013 tax cuts. That will help the fat cats.. guess they think that's good for the economy. By and large, the unemployed are not a bunch of shiftless bums, like the other posters on this board would have you believe.

It's the responsibility of government to promote the general welfare of its citizens.

You live in this country, therefore you are required to help support it through taxes.

We're Americans. You know...citizens of a first world country. Uh...we can't afford to look out for fellow Americans who have come into hard times, but there are hundreds of billions to bring "democracy" to foreign countries? Wow...that's odd.

The "ethics" should be self explanatory if you have a pulse. It's the right thing to do. That's why we have unemployment insurance. You'd think that one wouldn't have to tell someone something as simple as that.

Unemployment is insurance. Do you complain when you pay your car insurance every month?

And please explain where this money to pay all these unemployment benefits are going to come from?

And don't say: End war. End corporate welfare. And the typical liberal mantra's. You have the most liberal/socialist president in history in office and, until recently, a democratically controlled Congress and NONE of that has ended. Its increased.

So, on a realistic scale and realistically speaking, where is this money going to come from? Simple answer: MY TAX DOLLAR.

Yes, ofcourse liberals pay taxes. Liberals want every social "net" program, under the sun and then some. However, they want someone else to pay for them. Ever see thread after thread of: Pay for this, pay for that, by raising taxes on the rich?

If YOU Mr/Mrs Liberal want all these programs, YOU PAY FOR THEM. Don't force me too. I don't want them, nor do I need them. And save the: You might need them someday. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. HOWEVER, I'll deal with myself and my family.

I DO NOT expect YOU to pay more out of YOUR paycheck, so I can live. Its MY responsibility. Not yours. You know, that sticky thing of personal responsibility liberals cannot and refuse to take part in.
