If the TRUTH betold...... EVERYONE is half as rich as they were 10 years ago because the dollar has lost 50% of its purchasing power. In the early 2000s our U.S. Dollar futures had a price of $1.20 or so. Now it is down to the $0.70 cents range. So just to have MAINTAINED your wealth, you needed to have nearly DOUBLED your liquid assets. Not too many people have been able to do that what with the Oct 2008 crash etc. Even the stock market never regained its highs and as it attempted to, the dollar was losing value. the stock market would have needed to almost double its prior highs to keep up with the loss of value in the dollar...and it hasn't even reached its prior highs.

The TRUTH is we are ALL a LOT poorer than we would have been had we elected someone like a Ron Paul who actually UNDERSTANDS economics.

If someone like a Ron Paul could have been elected instead of G.W. Bush, the U.S. Consitution would still be intact.

The Patriot Act never would have been passed and our Liberties would be respected.

Our standard of living would be exponentially better than it is now.

The price of food and gas would have remained in an AFFORDABLE range.

Homeland Security would be a tiny fraction of it's current size or not even in existence which means there would be no TSA to make our lives miserable. Homeland Security wouldn't be encouraging us to spy on each other like they are now with the "See something, Say something campaign".

We wouldn't be seeing banned internet sites or passages of laws forcing people to pay taxes on internet transactions.

We wouldn't be seeing disgraceful headlines like "FBI can search your trash without a warrant".

There wouldn't be forced vaccinations.

The government wouldn't be passing laws designed to bnefit the BIG pharma and BIG agra companies designed to shut down health food stores selling supplements and Farmer's Markets and organic farmers so that all we are left with is poisonous phude (genetically engineered) and drugs with side effects.... Yes, that is what King Obama has been enabling to come to pass. he's been signing the bills and taking away your FREEDOM OF CHOICE to choose healthful foods so that the government can force you to eat phude that is bad for you. Why? They do this because if you are sick and weak you can't fight back. Not only that but those of you who don't know wny better will run to your medical doctors who will simply put you on more drugs. This makes more money for the medical establishment -- PRECISELY what they want. THEY WANT CONTROL OVER YOU AND THEY WANT YOUR MONEY. Vote for any of the Lamestream candidates or for Obama and that is what you will be giving them -- control over your destiny.

There wouldn't be ongoing secret bailouts (STEALING) of taxpayers money to the Fortune 50 companies if someone like a Ron Paul had held office.

The dealings of the Federal Reserve would be much more transparent and they would NOT be able to get away with what they have been able to since 9/11 -- namely inflating the cost of everything by printing money out of thin air and expanding the money supply so that the rich elites can benefit at our expense.

A LOT would be different.

Things could START to be different if we, FOR a LONG OVERDUE CHANGE, elected someone with a PROVEN TRACK RECORD of making smart ethical decisions and not someone who the Lamestream media tells the sheeple is "electable" who will in turn just turn out to be a puppet the way Obama, and GW Bush and Clinton were.

I don't think anyone can fix us know unless we pull out of overseas and start doing stuff here. If companies get tax breaks and continue to outsource, they should lose them.
They should be able to see it. What town with a few large manufacturing plants in it hasn't had some of them shut down and close in recent years? One plant in my town that employed over a 1000 workers a few years ago is about to permanently shut down.

Why don't all you that whine about the "rich" just start your own business? That way you don't have to let those companies take advantage of you. Why do so many think in terms of "working for someone else" when they can easily make a decent living on their own. All it takes is a lot of sacrifice, a little start-up capital, a valid economic idea, and a lot of hard work.

You probably will never be "rich",...but at least you will have only yourself to blame for your failure.

Wait... why are the federal income taxes they're paying nearly twice the percentage of their share of the income? Shouldn't they be paying on par with their share of the income? They're paying way too much, proportionately.

Kind of shoots 'the rich don't pay taxes' myth all to hell...

To me it seems the process of democracy i..e voting, writing letters to your statesmen, having mass protests waving signs of ill content, conscientious objection, and even mild destruction of private/public property have failed in garnering the attention of our politicians. So I ask you and every American worker who is part of the middle class what is our next option? Mob style hits on politicians? V for Vendetta style explosions of government buildings and corporate enterprise?

A mass "stay at home for one day" rally across the country? Just how the hell is the US populace going to usurp their lost power and way of life? Or do we all just dissolve into the matrix of the have and have nots like medieval Europe and every other third world country across the planet.
The problem is the majority of working Americans just haven't woken up and smelled the damn coffee.

The second problem is that organizing and protesting for a particular cause has become and anthema to many Americans.

Nothing will happen until more Americans get POLITICALLY ACTIVE.

What is even more unbelievable is that number of ordinary Americans that actually buy into this.

Good job O.P. You hit the nail on the head.

As a Canadian living in the U.S. I noticed this quite some time ago and have always wondered why people are unwilling to see the reality. Maybe there is some hope and people are starting to clue in to the reality.

Yeah I guess everyone in American is supposed to be a business owner? Who the hell do you think is going to police our streets, teach our kids, build our houses, manufacture our cars, nurse our sick back to health, empy our trash, grow our food etc. Another kool aid drinker!!
