Cows jumping over moons cause lunar eclipses.

If government causes poverty, that means that government has a say in how much money people make.

By the same thought, it means that government can create wealth as well.

Government programs aren't a bad thing, most people like healthy food, clean water, police protecting them, fire departments putting out fires, dams being built, new interstates, safe cars, mail, the internet, social security, medicare, and the list goes on and on.

It doesn't mean that government should dictate how many soft drinks you can have per day, it doesn't mean that government should make illegal plants they don't like that don't hurt anyone. It also doesn't mean that government should be doing a lot of things.

The problem with the United States today is that the top 2% of the population controls 98% of the wealth. Corporations are always trying to dance around the tax code, who can blame them. Government should make taxes simpler, and quit showing one industry favors that others aren't getting.

By awarding contracts and giving grants, the gov't does create wealth.

It doesn't dictate how much someone makes, unless Obama's czar thinks you make too much, it is about how much the gov't takes from what you make.

Government programs aren't a bad thing, most people like healthy food, clean water, police protecting them, fire departments putting out fires, dams being built, new interstates, safe cars, mail, the internet, social security, medicare, and the list goes on and on.

Most programs have a good intent at first, then they get bloated and waste fraud and abuse become the norm.

It doesn't mean that government should dictate how many soft drinks you can have per day, it doesn't mean that government should make illegal plants they don't like that don't hurt anyone. It also doesn't mean that government should be doing a lot of things.

But, the gov't DOES want to dictate what type of soft drink you can drink, as in schools.

And they want to dictate who you can hire and hundreds of other things.

The problem with the United States today is that the top 2% of the population controls 98% of the wealth. Corporations are always trying to dance around the tax code, who can blame them. Government should make taxes simpler, and quit showing one industry favors that others aren't getting.
I don't think the 2% is the problem. The rest I agree with.

Oh of course government causes poverty!

That's why Europe that has government's twice the size of the USA, size for size, has a higher standard of living than the USA.

Default Government causes poverty....

...which causes more government. It's that damn circle of cause and effect again.
