Actually, thinking about it, what did Europe invent besides tyrants and welfare statists?

Libs need to lay off the sauce. Nearly EVERY important invention of the 20th century was made in the US or the UK. For even the few continental european inventions, they were perfected, mass produced and distributed through the US, or the inventors came to the US to produce them.

The Argand lamp. Of course, Argand was Swiss, from one of the only free nations in Europe...

It is amazing how liberals have come to hate America as a matter of course and resort to revisionist history to "prove" their point.

First electronic digital computer- 1942 at Iowa State Univ from Aranasoff and Berry.

First integrated circuit- Jack Kilby (US army project 1951) and Robert Noyce (later founder of Intel) 1962.

The Wright brothers were the first to use an internal combustion engine in manned flight. A steam powered craft was developed and flown by Clement Ader in 1890. Note how much we use the steam powered aircraft today.

Why are liberals ALWAYS wrong?

A side note: the weaving machines of the time period used a on/off sequence to determine patterns in the product they were producing. It was in effect the first binary code 1010010011110001100101010 :-)

the first viable automobile was created by karl benz in 1885, with gottleib daimler and wilhelm maybach close behind.

Of course you leave out the phonograph, telegraph, telephone, burning fluid, Newhouse trap, Colt's revolvers, early repeating rifles such as the Winchester, the circular blade for cutting lumber, and on it goes. A little browsing of U.S. patent records might give you an idea of how much innovation has come out of American minds.

the wright brothers created the first aircraft that was powered and controllable. others may have gotten into the air before them, but there is little proof of that. when the wright brothers took the wright flyer to france in 1909, it was commented that the wright brothers were a decade ahead of everyone else.

The first computer was invented in England. Look it up.
the first digital computer maybe, but analog computers had been around since the late 1800s.

again not just powered, but controlled flight. thats the key.

actually edisons light bulb was just as easy to produce, but since edison wouldnt let tesla use his light bulb at the chicago worlds fair, tesla had to come up with a light bulb that didnt interfere with edisons patent.

This is a silly argument to be having anyway. Practically all Americans who actually invented anything of value are really just Europeans that so happen to be living within the borders of America.

As for being an innovation hub, on a per-capita basis, America isn't a very good innovator. I have no doubt that most of Northern Europe and East Asia are probably much more innovative on a per-capita basis than America. America just has lots of money and a huge market, makes it a bit easier.

Why didn't you just say pink was your favorite color?

The environment in which innovation is created is crucial.

I suppose the King would let whatever anyone wanted to pass to be sold on the market though, right?
