And the left accuses the right of fear mongering!

How about this:

FDA 2008 budget - $2.1 billion. A 5.5% increase over 2007
2009 budget - $2.4 billion. A 5.7% increase over 2008
2010 budget - $3.2 billion. A 19% increase over 2009
2011 budget - $4.03 billion another large increase. they won't even post the percentage.

I think they have plenty of money.

Do you see a pattern?

9 to 10% of Americans are unemployed.

Social Security recipients did not receive an increase for 2 years.

All private sector wages stagnant. etc, etc, etc.

IMO, they should be reduced to the 2008 level.

Did any of the things some people are predicting happen in 2008?

Can you really justify a 19% increase for 1 year and then want more the next year?

I believe the e. coli from the cattle droppings can be spread via runoff.

Yes, but apparently a lot more of them get infected by e. coli.

U.S. Food Safety: Home-Grown Problems Abound

In 1995, officials recorded 13,497 cases of food-related illness from 645 outbreaks; in 2000, there were 26,043 cases from 1,417 outbreaks. By 2005, however, the numbers had dipped a bit: There were 20,179 cases from 982 outbreaks.

The widening of E. coli cases from protein products to fresh fruits and vegetables is related to "the fact that U.S. agricultural commodities tend to be grown in areas that have cattle, which are reservoirs for bacteria," explained Bruce Clark, a partner in the Seattle law firm of Marler Clark, which represents victims of food poisoning. "As soon as you have manure on the ground, and you have birds and wild animals and water, you have all these vectors for transferring bacteria to fresh fruits and vegetables."

That has exactly what to do with growing your own food to eat? Having a cow is against city ordinance not a garden. Also approx 700 people a year are hit by lightning. I'll take my chances with ecoli. Figure the odds on both and see why I'm not too worried about either.

Big Ag is using the manure for "organic" reasons.

Small farmers and home gardners do not mix cattle with their veggie gardens. But Big Ag does.

There was one outbreak in CA where it was hog manure that contaminated the crop. Another was Earthbound Farms that leased land for crops that had just run cattle.

Better wash the poop off that FRESH supermarket produce folks.
Me..I eat as I harvest because I know exactly what I'm putting on my garden veggies and fruits.

The only manure you can use right away is rabbit manure. The rest have to be composted.

Exactly my point. Don't go around squealing that the govt isn't protecting you when you can walk into your backyard and plant your own food. That at least is still legal for now. Read up on Monsanto, Big Ag and Vilsak and you won't eat that stuff anymore unless your looking to get sick.
