Well, when you take away the careers that used to exist...

Do you really think people are happy to be in this position? It's not like anyone's going to seriously expect six figures at Target, they're just looking to support a family. Considering that Walmart employees often simultaneously use welfare programs (because they qualify!), I'd say that we could stand to compensate people a little better.

There are jobs above min wage.
$312/week ($8 x39 hours) is poverty wages.

Go into Target and see who works there. Retired and immigrants with a handful of P/T teenagers. You see the same in Walmart.
