you have to suspend him to discourage some student from doing something stupid every day of the school year. Can you imagine a school where every day some wise crack wore something to school to distract the student body. If you just send them home to change you don't fix the problem.

Watch the video and you will see that the dress is a see thru and he has nothing on under it until it gets to his yang yang...

I see school as a place to learn appropriate behavior for fitting into American work place environments. And unless this kid is going to work in Vegas as a transvestite...wearing a dress and heels to work as a male is not going to work. The man would get fired.

So...maybe this kid is learning a lesson--sure, do what you want--but there are consequences. He should have worn a kilt.

As for the family dynamics--this family needs help.

Sending him home to change would have taught him that lesson just fine.

It's apparent by the video he is known for doing this kind of stuff, it's probably the reason for the suspention to discourge and teach him theres a price for breaking the rules. If children don't learn this they will be going to jail for the same stupid behaivior. I've seen plenty of it.

I am thinking this kid has already pushed buttons at school. And they are tired of his behavior. This child is crying out for attention--even negative attention--time for a therpy consult.

Regardless of why he does it, this is pretty stupid. Girls can wear pants and a tie to school - in the past this would have been looked down upon. Why can't guys wear whatever they want? Skirt, dress, ribbons in their hair - whatever... as long as it doesn't show inappropriate body parts - what is the big deal? For centuries men have worn traditional robes/skirts so it's nothing that shocking.

It's only "disruptive" and "a big deal" because everyone else decides to give him attention. People should just stop paying attention to him (ignore the drama queen) and focus on their studies! He's not standing in the classroom interrupting lecture and telling everyone to look at him.

I would much rather see guys dressed in a nice dress than in saggy gangster pants with their butt hanging out.

Pants are not "mens wear", dresses are "womens wear". There is a differece whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. Getting suck into theoretical "it's not fair" debates doesn't address the problem. A boy dressed as a girl will get attention...period.

What if he wore a kilt? Would they call it a skirt and suspend him?

Seriously, this is only as disruptive as everyone else allows it to be. He isn't disrupting anyway. He doesn't control other people. Unless their is some specific rule that doesn't allow boys to wear a dress or high heels, what's the deal?

What exactly is the problem? Some kids allow themselves to get distracted?

Tuxedo's are mens wear. If a girl showed up in a pink tuxedo people would pay attention to her. Should she go home?

Can't control what others do man. If they don't want this they need to put it in the dress code.
