Outside of Texas many think Perry is Tea Party material.
But he's not. We had Debra Medina (Tea Party) running against Perry for governor.

Perry is Republican through and through. He's not Tea Party.

Do you think states just have one big fat bank account and all money goes in there ? It doesn't work like that.
Perry thinks its more important pushing through sonogram bills than working on education in this state. A reason why Texas is so low compared to those "damn libs" in California or New York, who beat Texas in education.

Perry is tea party. He has attended tea party rallies in Texas before. You don't remember the whole "secede" thing?

Teacher salaries come out of property taxes. Still a different bucket than sonograms.
You are from Texas so you should know this. Property taxes go to the state to fund school districts which include salaries.
Robin Hood funding distributes the money more evenly between property rich and property poor districts.

Texas being low in education ? Yes it is. With 52% Hispanic schoolchildren we have our work cut out for us to educate them.
Again..you are from Texas so you should know this.

LMAO at you trying to use the "you are from Texas, you should know this" line. Everyone in Texas knows Perry has slashed education funding. Use Google.

Did you just blame the problem on the Hispanics?

Perry is a POS governor and a top of the line hypocrite which cannot be mentioned enough. The folks who voted him back in for the umpteenth time need a smack to the head.

You try educating Hispanic kids in English when they speak poor or no English and come back to us. Illegal immigrant Hispanics and kids of illegal immigrant Hispanics are dragging down education because the schools have to accommodate their non-existent/poor English and spend money teaching them English while cutting back special ed. and cutting programs that help low achieving, mostly poor native English speakers

I agree. He is no tea party and the libs don't realize it. Just because you attend a "tea party" doesn't make you one. Debra Medina was true tea party and had the whole establishment against her and lost against Perry, the establishment pick

My sister teaches second grade. I've worked as a sub and observed 4th grade while I was deciding what grades I wanted to teach. By 4th grade, you've got children that have gone from no English to just a few mistakes in sentences. You cannot explain away our issues with "it's the illegal immigrants faults". That isn't going to work here.

Texas is #49 in verbal SAT scores in the nation (493) and #46 in average math SAT scores (502).
Texas is #36 in the nation in high school graduation rates (68%).
Texas is #33 in the nation in teacher salaries. Teacher salaries in Texas are not keeping pace with the national average. The gains realized from the last state-funded across-the-board pay raise authorized in 1999, which moved the ranking from 33 to as high as 26th in the nation, have disappeared over the last five years.
Texas was the only state in the nation to cut average per pupil expenditures in fiscal year 2005, resulting in a ranking of #40 nationally; down from #25 in fiscal year 1999.
Texas is #6 in the nation in student growth. The general student population in Texas public schools grew by 11.1% between school years 1999 and 2005, with the largest percent of growth seen among low income and minority children.
Between school years 1999 and 2005, the number of central administrators employed by Texas public schools grew by 32.5%, overall staffing in public schools grew by 15.6%, while the number of teachers grew only 13.3%
.
Do you see those numbers? Do you see where the problem might be coming from?

I have no dog in the fight when it comes to Perry. I neither like him nor dislike him - my comment had nothing to do with him, specifically.

I was merely pointing out that Alex Jones is a nut case, that's all, and that anyone starting a thread with "Bilderberg" in the title and an Alex Jones video as the content of the post CAN'T be taken seriously. They just can't.

If they want to be taken seriously, they should find a non-nutcase source for their information. If it's valid and accurate information, then SURELY there's someone out there besides Alex Jones publishing it, right?
