They were both born Jewish in New York City. Possible.

Another poster mentioned whether John Wayne (known as Marion "Duke" Morrison in his college football days) was related to Jim Morrison: I highly doubt it. Morrison is a relatively common last name amongst Irish-Americans.

I used to listen to Savage a bit in my younger days (when he was still on around here). He's intelligent and entertaining, but hard to take seriously as well.
