Michele Bachmann, great liberal hope - Michele Bachmann, R-Minn. - Salon.com
Does Bachmann's opposition to Obamacare on the grounds that it is a privatization of Medicare (and implying that Obama supports the Paul Ryan plan), and her citing levels of black unemployment as an example of Obama's failures, mean that Bachmann has a liberal side that until now was not apparent? Add to this her opposition to the Wall Street bailouts putting her on the same side as the left wing populist faction of the Democrats, and her opposition to the use of force in Libya putting her on the same side with Kucinich, Sanders, etc., and one has to wonder whether Bachmann, despite being considered ultraconservative, has a liberal streak in her. Or are all these merely empty words designed to get liberals to support her?
