The GOP has a Jobs Plan, it consists of Tax Breaks for the wealthy if they use caddies rather than electric carts. That will put thousands of former middle class Americans to work carrying the golf bags of the rich,
We don't need a "jobs bill". We need to invest in infrastructure, which will create jobs.
The federal government shouldn't try and "create" jobs, it should put the incentive out there for private business to create jobs, by making projects available for bid.
The GOP's idea of trickle down economics has never, not once in the history of our country worked, and probably not in the world.
A bill to create another useless government department... yeah... creating government jobs to do nothing... is that the best thing a liberal can come up with... FAIL....
he was correct, the USA does not need a balanced budget, it needs to default on the debt and start over. maybe then the politicians can actually live within the taxpayers means.
somehow I doubt it.
Again, why?
You are making statements without proving your position.
"The United States should give me 100 billion dollars, and I will create jobs", without the how, its a silly statement.
how many amendments and/or earmarks were in it? maybe that is the reasons that they dont want it passed.
A few years back Driehaus ran false and misleading campaign advertisements claiming that Steve Chabot (R) voted 8 times against funding for body armor for the troops in Iraq.
That part was true.
What Driehaus deceitfully forgot to mention was the reason why Chabot voted against the bill, and it was because of the pork. It isn't like Driehaus didn't know that. Chabot was on record in the Cincinnasti Enquirer and on radio when he voted against it the 5th and 6th times.
It's a common practice to stuff politically sensitive bills with pork and earmarks and one that needs to stop.
Perhaps one day a real president will have the balls to to initiate a line item veto and follow it all the through its logical conclusion.

I feel Trickled on, don't you? I agree about infrastructure
Apparently President Obama, VP Biden, Speaker Boehner, and FOX NEWS choice for President Kasich were out checking the GOP Plan

I coined the phrase that has been repeated here a few times now in other threads.
"Trickle down doesn't work. Don't **** down my back and tell me its raining"
I agree, our government is messed up, and in massive need of overhaul. One party seems somewhat willing to do so, one party seems to want to stand on their high horse and swear that no taxes should be raised, and that programs that Americans will allow taxes for to die out.

The federal government should not be in the "business" of creating "jobs."
This is another typical liberal: We want, we want, we want. But I want someone else to pay for it.
I wouldn't say a typical liberal. I do think that we don't need more federal jobs. I like the idea of the federal government saying "Ok, we need a new interstate. Lets take bids on it, and give the contract to a private employer that will do it well for a fair price".
That isn't socialism, its just good government.
But the GOP is against even that kind of reasonable response.
Both parties are terribly ineffective at governing.
"Sen. Boxer, the bill's sponsor, noted that it was the content of the amendments that ensured the bill’s demise. A bill to fund the Economic Development Administration (EDA), a measure Democrats characterized as a “jobs bill,” was stopped from advancing in the Senate Tuesday in a 49-51 vote."
So, funding another bureaucracy went down in flames, huh bob?

100, 30 of them from Dems. It's OK though, just more documented proof for the voters who want to see Govt work. Kind of clarifying.
