I'd rather keep an illegal Pulitzer Prize winner and kick out all the useless legal people who never won any awards nor contributed anything to society. And getting reputation points on CD doesn't count as awards. Gotta keep this country STRONG and get rid of the chaff.
As for all the illegals who are dead weights, I could care less... same goes for all the legal people who are deadweights.
miyu makes a good point, how many US citizens who are wholly capable of working are instead milking the welfare teat dry?
I also don't know why y'all think it would be ok to deport a person used in hammertime's example. If your dad commits murder should you go to jail for it as well? I think there's a huge difference between knowingly entering this country illegally and being brought in to this country as a very young child illegally.
We make exceptions for people who commit crimes under duress, surely the same logic can be applied to cases like that.
What have we become as a country? How far have we fallen? People who are here in this country illegally, who have been leeches on our system and tax dollars are now brave enough to openly admit that they're illegal with no fear of being prosecuted or brought to justice. Illegal aliens have become more and more bold because they know in many ways they have more rights in this country than the average legal US citizen.
What a F'in joke we've become.
Bein a pulitzer prize winning journalist, I hardly think he's been a leecher of any tax dollars, more than likely he's contributed with quite a lot of them.

He was brought in as a young child, learned of his illegal status at age 16, and from then on he knowingly committed ID fraud. He hasn't been innocent this whole time.

How did he pay any federal income taxes all these years without a SS# or legal work status?
"Federal tax law prohibits the IRS from sharing data with other government agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, assuring unauthorized immigrants that the tax information will be confidential and not be used to initiate removal procecedures."

Yes, he did pay all his taxes at all his jobs (Subway, Y.M.C.A, a tennis club, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Washington Post, etc, etc, etc). Did you not read the article?
