I'm trying to imagine this and how I would even see it happening. I suppose if someone were out in public going balistic on a kid with a belt I would. But why would anyone do that in public? If it were done privately and I found out it was "beating", leaving marks, indiscriminate, etc. I probably would. I remember having to bend over and take 3 licks with a belt on my bottom when I was very young...that sort of thing I wouldn't bother with.

If a child truly is being harmed, then Harrier is Child Protective Services.

If a parent is just giving a kid a well deserved whipping for disciplinary reasons - its not a problem.

Wow, so you were beat into being good? If you believe that, that is really sad.

I voted yes. My ex-mother-in-law used to brag about how she took her four children to Sears to pick out the best belt, and then made them sit at the kitchen table and watch as she cut it into strips so it would have the most optimal effect. She was the most profoundly fundamentalist Christian I ever came across. Not surprisingly, none of her four children want anything to do with her today.

There is no well-deserved whipping. Any bodily injury of a child constitutes "being harmed." If you gave me what you considered to be a well-deserved whipping you would go to jail. Are children property?

Your attitude is why there are so many gang bangers in L.A. County - that and the misguided war on drugs.

Too many fathers in prison, and mothers who refuse to effectively discipline their children because they buy the liberal lie that spanking is "abuse".

A parent who truly loves their child will spank them when they misbehave.

You did not answer my question.

Love does not involve hitting. I'm truly sorry you were raised to believe that.

I am not a liberal by any stretch.
