As I recall, Berkeley was taken to court because of their refusing to admit a well qualified white male. Have you heard of the Berkeley Cookie sale which is a product of their students? The charge for a cookie is based on race and of course, white students paid the highest rate.
Some universities complain that they can no longer do remedial work with unqualified students and are leaving it up to the community colleges to try to bridge the gap. Did anyone notice that high school graduates don't even have a fundamental knowledge of American history? Sadly, that leaves them vulnerable to not knowing the huge contributions the U.S. has made to the world and so they buy into foreign hate of this country and its hightly qualified and talented people.
When I worked for a local college district they would request applicant lists of non-whites from a Sacramento agency so they could load the hiring pool to meet their so called "non-white" preference but they would not call themselves racists. If the hiring committee chose the well qualified white, HR would tell them they had to make another choice. The result is a decline in the value of college instruction which is reflected in quality of their "graduates".
The Clintons like to tell the rest of us how we should live but they don't marry outside of their own race, so they shouldn't tell anyone else how to live. Hopefully, they will increase the white population.

For CENTURIES in this country White Americans denied Black American, Latino Americans, Native Americans and Asian Americans equal opportunity in terms of jobs, housing, education and access to credit and financial capital. History has shown that at some point in time people EVERY GROUP OF PEOPLE REAP THE WORLDWIND OF THE INJUSTICES THEY PERPETRATE.
At some point there will be no need for these type of hiring preferences. But they would have never been needed in the first place had not White Americans denied others opportunity in order to hold on to political, economic and social power.

OMG you act like Consuela and Mashonda living in the projects are applying and receiving jobs as executive vice presidents of Boeing or Lockheed Martin. GET A GRIP. You do realize that a certain amount of requirements like career experience and educational background are necessary to make the cut, right? The playing field may be leveling...but it is in no way level when it comes to white collar careers.

The irony of your statement is that White Americans still hold the majority of poltical economic and social power in this country.
Yet you want to blame the ills of America on "others".
I have come to believe there are some White Americans that would rather see America decline that see it become a place where more people of different races, cultures and economic backgrounds are given the opportunity to make a better life for themselves.

What's more pathetic than a white person sitting on the side lines watching the world pass them by???..a white person who is idiotic enough that the world is passing them by because black people have something to do with their inability to handle life!!
This is weird. So many misperceptions and stereotypes about race! It's much less about race and much more about income level.
Just as some non-whites who are poor and 'backward' live in projects and ghettos there are plenty of poor whites who are just as backward that live in projects, or low income areas. Guess what? They too have high crime, high drug usage, high rates of unwed mothers and all the other things that go along with low income.
I'm not saying all poor people are stupid, lazy, drug users with lots of unwed mothers and teen pregnacies. However; the rates of crime, addiction and all the social ills that go with that is more prevalent with those in poverty and low education regardless of race.
Well if poor blacks and poor illegals get to blame their problems and lack of opportunities on whites, who do the poor whites get to blame for their poverty and problems?
Middle class people aren't "given" opportunities, they make opportunities. Like in the past, if schools aren't available, ambitious and responsible people build schools for their children -- just as many black people in the past built schools when they couldn't use the white schools and many of these schools were good. Those people succeeded just fine, not all blacks were illiterate waiting around for someone to hand them some kind of opportunity, they made their own, even when it was difficult.
