The legislation by Paul, a libertarian-thinking Texas Republican running for president, and Frank, a liberal Massachusetts Democrat, is being touted by the advocacy group Marijuana Policy Project (MPP).

The bill to be introduced by Frank and Paul would allow states to "legalize, regulate, tax and control marijuana without federal interference."

The bill by Frank and Paul would "end state/federal conflicts over marijuana policy, re-prioritize federal resources and provide more room for states to do what is best for their own citizens," the group says.

Lets see it follows the constitution and the tenth amendment.
States control of POT!!! What a concept.
Leave the federal government out of it!
This gives states options on medical maurjania and rec IF THE STATES CHOOSE TOO!!!
You might even be able to GROW A HEMP FARM (not THE DRUG) THE PLANT for goods and services!!

Of course this won't get support because this government doesn't understand liberty and or even the concept of state rights.

Many labeled as liberals could also described as libertarians, just as many who profess to be conservatives are really authoritarians.

The funny thing is it is not for "legalizing pot", but giving the states the right to make the decision...which is what it should be.

The more folks get involved...the more States entertain it...the better. Sooner or later it'll happen!

It's about time our elected officials grew brains and a pair.

I could possibly see myself voting Paul if he pulls this one off.

i would be fine with that.

i imagine most states would want to have the revenue that it would generate and taxpayers might want to see real criminals occupying jail cells for a change, but what a bummer that would be for the illegal pot dealers who don't report any of that income now.

on a side note, though, it does make me a little sad that these are the best ideas for revenue generation that are being put out there so far.
