I have never understood nuclear power considering they create waste products that cannot be eliminated for thousands of years, if not longer... it seems a very large nuclear plant can provide energy for 400,000 homes... lets say there are 2.5 people in a home... thats about 1 million people... we have over 300 million people and growing... that would mean we would need 300 nuclear power plants and their access to water to cool down their reactors... do you know how much waste is produce by 300+ nuclear power plants? It doesn't seem like a reasonable energy program to continue building upon... yet the government subsidizes it and its research... and the government isn't interested in making solar panels which are about 20% efficient any better... they are more interested in selling you these underpowered solar panels... I just don't get it...
