That is so gee, o logical.

There are so many geocentrist crazies walking around.

Don't you think they should be looking for oil on Mars rather than water?

Or, do you think water pre-suppumes oil?

I read a sci fi book once they were shipping oil from one planet to another. Stupidest thing ever. Just look at the % of takeoff weight that is payload into orbit for the space shuttle. But you are correct that they should be looking for chemically bound hydrogen. That can be turned into water easily.

"Organic" is the chemistry of Carbon-containing "stuff". Petroleum and gas, as well as coal, contain lots of Cargon, hence the term hydro-carbons.

Non-organic is the chemistry of non-carbon-containing stuff'.

It is impossible, except under fusion. to get carbon from noncarbon, or organic, from inorganic. Not possible.

What is possible, and almost certain, that kerogen (oil-shale, if you like) is continuing the conversion to petroleum and natural gas on a constant basis, converting animal and plant forms, buried deep under sedimentary strata millions of years ago, into fresh petroleum and NG.

The term "organic" deceptively presupposes that carbon is actually CREATED by pre-living things.

That is very catholic.

And, it is very wrong.

On the other hand, the OP appears to be the perfect evidence that the intelligent creator didn't have the guts to bestow his creation with intelligence. There's a reason that the Lord is considered a shepherd...

On a personal note, I am very happy to note that, lately, one gallon of rotten dinosaur juice is a bit cheaper at the pump.

"There is abundant evidence of major volcanic eruptions 4 billion years ago, which would have released carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and sulfur dioxide (SO2) into the atmosphere."
