“We have been sliding for 70 years to a situation where Congress has nothing to do with the decision about whether to go to war or not, and the president is becoming an absolute monarch,” he said. “And we must put a stop to that right now, if we don’t want to become an empire instead of a republic.”

Well now, finally at least some of the real Democrats are waking up to the fact that their party has been taken over by Marxists.

Didn't Congress vote, though, not to defund the "monarch's" Libya mission? #toughtalkbutnobite

Perhaps you may someday wake up to the fact the 70 year slide the speech refers to includes a number of Presidents?

Perhaps someday you'll wake up to the fact that this guy was talking about Obama?

It makes your 'anti-Obama' label a distiortion of what was actually said. But you know that, eh?

Really? A slide he refers to that's older than Obama? Perhaps someday you'll take a reading comprehension course.

Nadler

It's a slide that's been happening since Kennedy was assassinated or even before that, btw...

LOL @ this entire thread.

First, most of the Democrats that are anti-war are to the LEFT of the President. The President is currently sitting square in the middle. The idea that, somehow, people to the left of the President are "waking up" to find people even further to the left (who don't exist) are taking over the party is patently absurd.

Second, he is talking about the Presidency in general, not this single President... although he has contributed to it as others have as well. I know it is difficult to follow sound thought, but you should try it sometime.
