Like I said earlier in the thread, I should have been clearer with my words. I meant that the Catholic church molests little boys, my point being that it's a bit hypocritical for them to condemn homosexuality when the leaders of their church do something that is ACTUALLY immoral.
Once again liberals bashing christianity (for not being open to homosexuals) while saying nothing about the homosexuals being imprisoned or executed in muslim countries according to Islam's Sharia law.

They're against civil, non-religious unions between homosexual couples. Explain.
How is that discrimination? It is their belief that any sexual act that frustrates procreation is a sin. Marriage is for procreation in their view. I am suspect you believe polygamy is wrong. Are you discriminating against polygamists!

I've yet to meet an anti-gay Christian who has even read that story, or knows of it's existance.
Perhaps it's because they don't tend to actually read the Bible, let alone study it?
Of course. I'm sure their pastors told them Sodom was destroyed because of the entire population being hedonistic gays who wanted to sleep with every man in the village. Most of them probably have never read Ezekiel 16:49 where it actually says the crime of Sodom was inhospitality (which was a huge deal in Biblical days. Mistreating strangers who come to town for food and shelter was very very bad).
The other problem is, as evident by that poll about rape, most conservatives seem to be under the mistaken impression that the rape of another man automatically makes them gay. Of course, the supposed men in Sodom were angels, which means those men would have been, what, spiritosexual? Angelsexual? Or, more accurately, since "hetero" means different and angels are different than humans, raping angels proves the men were "heterosexual".
Whoda thunk using their own silly logic about who you rape = your orientation would prove that the men in sodom were heterosexual.

How can a system ( Cathlocism) which denies normal heterosexual relationships in it's own structure and in fact makes marriage a no no to its priests, ever support heterosexual marriage or deny gay marriage. It's them saying "do as i say but not what i do".
This attitude by the Catholic church attracts people who do not want a normal, in their view, relationship. This structure is part of the reason that we have now uncovered a very very sordid underbelly in the Catholic Church which prays on young innocent Catholics. The Catholic Church strongly condemns Homosexuality while at the same time promoting it in their ranks by their historic cover ups when priests abuse children etc.
The so called "sanctity" of Heterosexual marriage does not exist in the Catholic church yet they say it is 'God's will" that mankind is Heterosexual and marriage between a man and a woman is the only true union. This is a definite "action talks and B/S walks.
Homosexuality is normal in every animal on Earth and we are no exception.
If the Catholic Church wants any credibilty on the Heterosexual / Homosexual argument then they must "practice what they preach" or Shut Up
