2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

That's what the catechism says. I understand the sacramental invalidity of gay marriage, but why is there so much discrimination in catholic churches? Why is there such an effort to put them down? I do not see "respect, compassion and sensitivity" in catholic churches regarding this issue.

The Church is not. Just look at how many priests have been outed all over the world.
Until it went public these priests enjoyed their lifestyle and the Church protected them.

Becoz some homosexuals corrupted the church, while other good men chose to stay outside and fight

Look at the number of homosexual men who took to priesthood in the 50s 60s and 70s to hide from society and went on to corrupt from within. The whole situation is complex.

On homosexuality and abuse within the church

All churches that discriminate against gay people do it for the same reason---because of what was written in the Old Testament, Genesis 19.

Catholic answers: Homosexuality

Please support your assertion. No keep in mind, the fact that the church views homosexual acts as a sin does not equal discrimination.

They're against civil, non-religious unions between homosexual couples. Explain.

Unfortunately for you the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was not homosexuality, it was lack of hospitality. The article you referenced mentioned it but tried to shift the total problem to homosexuality. Nice spin job, biased for sure, but nice spin job.
