Amusing article...I wonder why the Dutch and many other Europeans didn't think about preserving the culture of the lands they invaded and claimed as their own. They seem to conveniently forget that.
Perhaps it's the distance of two centuries and a healthy dose of Enlightenment thinking?
As it goes for the Dutch, the local cultures of its former colonies are in fine health...and now as independent countries they are entitled to return to living in mud huts and living to the ripe old age of 30 if they wish.
Absolutely not. What you're witnessing is the first victories in the battle against multiculturalism and the delusional postmodernist mindset that begot it.
What Geert Wilders has proven is that reason and persistence will eventually hammer away at groupthink. And I'm certain that it time the embedded Muslim populace will come to know what Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian Hindu, Sikh, Korean and Filipino migrants have already figured out: it's not necessary that you adopt the bad habits of the host culture to integrate, but it is absolutely mandatory that you leave behind the bad habits of your own culture.
The last line is my take on multiculturalism. You don't want to adopt some of the aspects of the native culture that you disagree with? Fine. You want to keep your cuisine and taste in music? Fine. You want to keep vendetta, honor killings, and spousal abuse? Find somewhere else to live.

This isn't phony. They are stopping subsidies for immigration, banning burqas, requiring learning to speak Dutch, get tougher on Sharia law, and other Real measures to restore Dutch culture and values.
It took a few decades, but the Netherlands woke up in time.
Even so, Russians of all ethnicities are mainly Russian culturally (languages, habits, food).It's not like recent muslim immigrants in Europe for example.
Russia has immigrants, but they're mostly white and slavics, so they fit well.
Said it before, say it again. Multiculturalism does not work. You cannot be one country with such distinct cultures. How can you harmonize a society in which liberal Dutch and conservative third world Arab cultures are given equal footing?
You can have a multi-ethnic society, but multiculturalism is impossible.
